huh, looked around and couldn't find the original thread for this, but I could have sworn it had one... am I just blind?
anyways, thought this was a pretty cute issue. Really liked the boys' behavior in this issue, typical guys (Lightning Lad made me laugh) and the superpigs were great (esp the superman one with the spitcurl) so an enjoyable issue, and in a way reminds me of an old Legion tale where the Legionnaires are turned into babies. Must be the absurdity factor.
Long Live the Legion!

This issue wasn't doing it for me with "girls are gossipy, boy-crazy creatures"...and then came the super-powered pigs, which brought the story back from the doldrums and made this the Best. Issue. Ever.
I also like that the comic books seems to be taking a different direction from the show, fleshing out how the 21st century affected the 31st. If done well, this could make for some awesome world-building, and we could have a book that actually complements the cartoon instead of just existing.

Phantom Girl also dated Bobby Trixt the asteroid mine and Triplicate Girl went out with all three Knox Brother at once! And check out those nifty ski outfits.
A "Tinya and the Trips" spinoff could be as huge as "Betty and Veronica", I think.
Yeah, the super-pigs were great but the Trips firing them like bazookas was the best part.
Girls rule!

Kind of a neat trick though, going to a ski chalet on Tharr. I think someone assumed the world is a winter wonderland, because Polar Boy calls it home.
I guess they forgot that the people of Tharr developed their powers to alter the laws of thermal dynamics as a means to keep cool on a DESERT PLANET!

Good catch, Pofo...
This lass-heavy issue seemed in direct contrast to the recent lass-shortage of season 2.
I'm loving how this book is dealing with stuff like Themyscria and the Green Lantern Corps, as long as the primary focus is on the Legionnaires.
And yes, girls firing super-pigs rule!

I guess they forgot that the people of Tharr developed their powers to alter the laws of thermal dynamics as a means to keep cool on a DESERT PLANET! That's standard pre-boot continuity, certainly. But even if true, technology could offer shade, and Tharrians working in concert could create ski slopes to increase tourism: a visitor could go back and forth between summer fun and winter fun on demand. Also, the scenario you present was Brek's explanation to the LSH about how/why they got their powers. He could have been mistaking nationalistic (for lack of a better term) legends for fact, offering a sectarian interpretation and omitting alternate viewpoints, or (hypothetically) lying to hide a personal or family secret. Or it could have been a lost secret, and planetary mythology developed in place. Keep in mind also, the Valor LSH annual atrributes Tharrian (and other UP worlds') powers to Dominator experiments on captive Earthers. As far as I recall, we've only ever seen Tharr in flashbacks to PB's origin, in the 1960s. That Tharr functions as a brush-stroke to explain Brek. Everyone else in that flashback wears the same costume, as I recall. If anyone else had paid the planet any attention since then, I'm sure we'd have seen more complexity than what was shown. What if Tharr's revolution cycle is such that the hot side faces the sun all the time, and the night side is icy/snowy, perfect for skiiing? Or perhaps it has high peaks that reach into a frigid atmospheric zone? The possibilities are endless, my friend. Years ago, I stopped playing continuity cop about the small details that are inevitably going to change anyway. I'd rather just enjoy the story, myself.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

As I recall, in the original story the desert was only one region of Tharr (and it was only the inhabitants of that region that had powers).
Levitz later made the whole planet a burning inferno in which the Tharrians were miners who lived underground.

Starfinger arc. Several members visited the planet to investigate an extortion racket or something like that.

forgot about that. I remember Rimbor, not Tharr. thanks.
Even so, I stand by most of my prior comments.
