I should write a book called Mars needs sparkly vampires". Should guarantee a best seller, lol.
I think it very cool that they are doing this.

What gets me is... this kind of thing is the perfect example of the decline of the world.
Here you have a tremendous achievement. People that barely over 100 years ago had never left the ground in sustained flight, have sent a small piece of machinery on average 1.3 to 10/8th power miles away, to land on another planet, safely, and transmit photos back detailing terrain, soil compositions, and a host of other things ...
and more people in the world are interested in Kim Kardashian.
Something else else, somewhere, is horribly wrong with us.

I read that Anonymous is trying to hack Curiosity. That struck me as both hilarious and appalling. I'd hate to see them wreck the thing, given my irrational devotion to all things spacey, but what a challenge!

Something else else, somewhere, is horribly wrong with us. On the other hand, the Mars landing has generated more interest than anything involving NASA since probably the Columbia disaster. And this time it's for something positive. I find that somewhat encouraging.
First comic books ever bought: A DC four-for-47-cents grab bag that included Adventure #331. The rest is history.

Something else else, somewhere, is horribly wrong with us. It is more interesting when the aliens come to us.
