Is anyone else getting excited about this movie?
Its by Richard Kelly, who I think is genius just based on Donnie Darko. INterestingly enough, the movie is said to be the last few chapters of a series of graphic novels that will be released prior to the movie.

ST has an interesting cast so far:
Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sean William Scott
the Rock
Kevin Smith
and others to be announced

The official website looks really great so far.

Donnie Darko was indeed genius. I have to say that both Donnie Darko and Boondocks Saints restored my faith in movies about three years ago.

And the cast looks great. Knowing the director, I expect that many of those personalities (Rock, Smith, etc.) will be held back a bit, which is a very good thing, allowing the story and good scenes take hold.

Thanks for the link Matt!

Did you see the documentary "Overnight"? It was all about the bartender who wrote/directed "Boondock Saints" who was picked from obscurity by Harvey Weinstein, became the "next big thing", but then quickly dropped from the radar after letting his ego run amock and burning every bridge he could find.

Drake, I've never heard of that before--and I'm every interested in picking it up now.

I think Boondock Saints was beyond awesome--was just so well done, by both the director/writer and the actors. It was also very aware that it was a movie, which leads me to be unsurprised that the director might have went this route.

Which kinda sucks, as I always heard a sequel was on the horizon, and despite my loathing for sequels, I was looking forward to it. And my fifteen year old sister is a Boondock Saints fan like Legion Worlders are Legion fans.

With Sarah Michelle Gellar as a porn star, anything can happen.

I also heard that Smith with play an amputee.

There should be more announcements about the rest of the cast shortly.

along with John Larroquette, John Lovitz, Amy Poehler, Mandy Moore, Jeanine Garrafolo (sp).

This seems like a very strange cast but I am very hopeful.

Any idea what the premise is for this, Matt?

I've heard it's set in the year 2008. Apparently, the internet is outlawed and there is a dommsday machine involved.

I think some of the comedians are playing creatures called "mechanicals" and I know Cheri Oteri is playing Zora Carmichaels, the villian of the piece. She is also a body building lesbian.
