Too bad Tina Fey isn't on SNL anymore. Seems like perfect casting for skits.

Curious there's so much said about her daughter while the Alaskan secession thing gets swept under.

I have to assume it isn't, but at first glance... It just looks so.... uh... in character with the opinion I'm developing of this woman. Or at least the type of voters she appeals to.

Y'know, I've seen that pic several times and I still don't understand it. Notice that there's somebody in the background sitting at the edge of the water with a rifle too. What's the deal? Is there some sort of local sport like Skeet Diving or Synchronized Underwater Target Shooting? Is it a Salmon hunt?
Ah well, whatever it is you have to admit that gun themed swim parties are always enhanced by cigarettes and Shlitz.

If you caught the season premiere of SNL last night, then you saw not only TINA FEY opening the show as Sarah Palin (with Amy Pohler as Hillary), but you ALSO got to see Ms. Fey (as Sarah) request that people stop photoshopping her head onto bikini-clad bodies! It was hilarious, especially when Tina/Sarah struck the pose in the pic posted previously here during an attempt to upstage Amy/Hillary.
(the rest of the show went downhill fast and I didn't finish it)

I hadn't seen SNL in a while, and was encouraged to see last night's episode because "Olympian Michael Phelps" was hosting.
I thought Phelps did an OK job -- it's pretty hard for people who aren't actors to do that kind of thing, unless they have some natural talent. He went a bit overboard with his mugging and facial expressions, but it's not like he's had much experience at that type of thing before.
Other than the opening, the only really amusing part of the show was Weekend Update and, to a limited degree, the Quiz Bowl skit. Most of the rest of the skits seemed to center on having the cast members come up with outlandish caricatures of bizarre and freakish people you'd never want to meet -- which was usually amusing for the first minute or so, then rapidly less so as the skits dragged on and on.

Luckily, it's on the SNL site today. Tina was spot-on as Palin, but Amy had all the best lines as Hillary...

It's actually kind of sad (whether you're a fan of Hilldog or not) that Hillary fought so hard and long only to lose the nomination while Palin just came out of nowhere to get the GOP VP spot, capturing the nation's fancy in the process.
Funny, funny skit!
