It's unacceptable that there was no thread to celebrate the twisted genius behind such films as DESPERATE LIVING, FEMALE TROUBLE, POLYESTER, CRY-BABY, HAIRSPRAY, PECKER, SERIAL MOM and CECIL B. DEMENTED.
So what's your favorite?

You might say that I'm a fan of Pecker
Some people are like slinkys: not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you knock them down a flight of stairs

Ugggh! PINK FLAMINGOS is too grotesque even for me, IB!
DESPERATE LIVING was my first exposure to Waters' twisted genius and remains a fave to this date. Featuring the most hilarious first 10 minutes in film history as Peggy has her nervous breakdown! Best quote of the film: "SEIZE HER AND FUCK HER!!"
FEMALE TROUBLE was sick in every way possible, I loved it! I especially liked when Divine threw the Christmas Tree on her Mom when she didn't get her cha-cha heels.
HAIRSPRAY starring the young Elvis lookalike-- *dreamy sigh*-- what fun!
CRY-BABY was impossible for me to resist what with the bitchen soundtrack and Johnny Depp in his underwear and all! Those Drapes sure were hot!!!
SERIAL MOM was brilliant in that Kathleen Turner just kept killing and killing and getting away with it. Loved when she sneezed on the baby!
PECKER was groovy-- and I owe this movie for introducing me to the concept of 'teabagging'.
CECIL B. DEMENTED I've seen only once. I recall liking it. It was interesting to watch Melanie Griffith develop Stockholm Syndrome.

It's disgusting, I know, but it's just plain hysterical. I'm still disturbed by the characters.. Divine, the filthiest person alive, the son, Crackers? he was a chicken fucker, the grandmother, oh god, the grandmother... she only wore her bra and panties and sat in a child's playpen and only ate eggs, Divine's lesbian lover, she's a gun packing mamma! I have never gotten over the end of that movie, ...where Divine eats dog poop! eew!
Polyester rules! Poor Francine Fishpaw!

I'm a little ashamed to admit I own Pink Flamingos and female Trouble on a double feature DVD. I always feel a little dirty after watching them.
Who can forget Dawn Davenport get raped by herself (sans drag) in dirty underwear. Question, what did she have on her feet during that scene?
Moral of the story: There but for cha-cha heels, go you and I.

(How can you not love a chicken-sex scene?) My favorite line is Taffy's (the "retarded" child): "I wouldn't suck your lousy dick if I was suffocating and there was oxygen in your balls!" John Waters is at his best when he's too, too sick!

God bless Edith Massey.
She should have won an oscar for her portrayal of the Queen of Morteville in DESPERATE LIVING.
Mink Stole should have gotten one for the first 10 minutes of the flick-- when Peggy Gravel is having her breakdown.

I say we have a big get together with everyone from these boards and havea john water's film night! lash, you'd have to sit on me, i mean next to me.
