Did anyone catch this?

As much as I found the whole Rimbaldi red ball thing preposterous, I'm relieved they've (hopefully) finally brought closure to this storyline. I didn't buy Sloane's allegiance to the CIA when he joined Elena (sp?). Didn't he have any opportunity to put a bullet to her before they poisoned that Russian city? I thought Nadia had outlived her usefulness and was sure to die. I don't mind her character, but I didn't see her lasting long on this series. Although, now with Jennifer Garner's pregnancy I wonder if they'll use the Nadia character more.

The final scene was a SHOCKER! I was watching it with my wife and sister and we all nearly jumped out of our skins. The build up was beautiful: the idyllic couple driving merrily along, Sydney all fresh-faced and curly waves flowing in the wind, Vaughn driving along the sunny road, "I love you's" bouncing back and forth...and then the "My name's not Vaughn" line followed by that CRASH! Brilliant! The writers lulled us and then whammed us with next season's puzzlers figuratively and literally. Forget big red balls, tainted water and zombie Russians. Our favourite CIA agents get into a car accident!

I was a bit let down by the finale. The stuff leading up to it was great, with Irina's return Elena's plots etc... I even liked the huge red ball! I guess it's just that with all that buildup and Sydney's "destiny", she didn't really do much except clip the wire her mom told her to. On the one hand it was cool that the family reunited to get it done, but Syd's part wasn't all that impressive. Needless to say, a bit was due to the fact that Garner's pregnancy has sidelined her from a lot of the action, with Nadia compensating. It's too bad that the final, prophetic fight between sisters had those intercut wideshots of stunt doubles, something Garner hasn't needed before.

The cliffhanger revelation was great but they'd better have a really good explanation (we've seen bad retcons at work and know how damaging they can be if not done right...).

I don't think this fight between Syd and Nadia was the one that was prophesied.

i've not reading this post, as i haven't even seen season 3 yet !!

the dvd of season 3, just came out yesterday, here in the UK, so i plan to get it soon .......
