Well, I remember a mention being made about artwork being put up for auction a while back. But, as things generally go with me, I kinda forgot about it until AFTER the auction. HOWEVER, I DID know that there were some pieces that were left over from the auction that were for sale. So I took my chances, and, holding my breath, I started looking at the art that wasn't in the auction. *whew* Imagine my shock when I discovered that BOTH PIECES WERE STILL AVAILABLE!!!!! And they BOTH arrived at my parents today!! YAY ME!!!!! This is the third person I've gotten art from that's a major Legion fan!!! I got my first work (a few pages) from Jeff Moy. Like his work or not, if you ever have a chance to chat with him on-line, take it. He's a sweet guy. Funny. Sharp. And all around a great guy. So even if you don't like his art, be careful, because his personality might be enough to win you over. The second Legion fan I've gotten work from was Newcru. :-D I can't wait until I get some of that art framed. >blush< I love his work!!!! He's ALWAYS putting so much of himself in his art. The art is all Michael. And it's just as refreshing and as wonderful as he is. The third person? Well, he and I have chatted a bit about his work. He can do smokey. And he can do demented. What can I say? I've wanted a Bevis Musson original for a while now. And I FINALLY have one. Or two. He's able to capture a lot in his drawing. Somehow, he's got a unique ability to draw together bits and pieces from different eras and combine them seamlessly. Personally, I find Bevis VERY talented. I'm absolutely giddy about now owning some more art by another LMBP member. Sorry, but this is soooooooooo cool!!!!!!! :-D [Oh grife!!!!!! APPARENTLY, the free site I've used for storing pics in the past is now refusing to let someone have access unless they get to see an advertisement!!!!!!!! So I'm just cheating!!!!]

It's still cool.
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.

oooh, blimey, it's a good thing I checked this thread isn't it? I wasn't sure if either piece had gone yet, but all I can say is that they couldn't go to a better home. Let me know when you get them Beagz, and what you think of them in the flesh as twere). I don't actually do much colour art because of the extra time it takes, but when I do the usual method I use is the same as both those pieces. Black inks, then watercolour washes and watercolour pencils on top for the main colours. One word of warning though , the watercolour pencils can smudge quite a bit (I don't think I used fixative spray on them) and since they are watercolour pencils if they get wet they will run and bleed a lot (especially on the Bristol Board since it's not terribly absorbant). He he. I'm all happy now. Not only did they sell, but they went to someone that I know deserves them. By the way, I also did a pencil drawing of Jenny Sparks for the Just 1 Page charity comic which will probably be auctioned at some point on Ebay (with an unfinished pencil drawing that I was considering instead of the final one). I'll have to check the link to that though, and I don't think the auction has started proper but if it has there are a lot of very cool pieces included there as well (including a fabulous Fungus The Bogeyman piece by.... someone who i can't remember. Oooh and a lovely Lucifer and Mazikeen sketch by Peter Gross too).

By the way Beagz, would you like the preliminary sketches for Canary and Joker? I certainly did a couple for the Joker and I think I have some Canary ones too. They're just rough sketches and layouts and stuff but if you'd like them give me a shout and I'll put them in the post for you.

Beagz, what a wonderful idea, buying art from Legion Worlders. How did you find out that Bevis was having an auction? I don't recall seeing anything here.
I emailed with Jeff Moy online several years ago when he was dropped from the Legion. As you say, he is one of the nicest guys. I loved his art and hope to acquire some one day.

Semi - I'm also a part-time stalker. ;-) Actually, I think I sent out an e-mail to a few people talking about a gaping hole I put in my knee, and a massive gash/rip I put on my left leg while I was high on drugs (Antibiotics!!! I SWEAR!!!!)
[Just for clarification ... Drugs affect my system quite differently than most people. I get totally stoned on over the counter cold medications!! And antibiotics get me drunk and to a state where I lose ALL feeling in my extremities!!!]
Anyway, in Bevis' response, he mentioned that he was doing some art for a charity, and I just sorta found the art and kept an eye on it for a while. Unfortunately, the end of school came up, and I lost all track of everything.
So that was how I found out about the art. :-D
Luckily, even though I forgot about it, they were still available a month ago when I first staked a claim to them.
OHHH! Just a plug!! Fil Baldowski was absolutely incredible to work with!! He was VERY patient and understanding. AND he didn't even laugh at my accent!!!! (I'm from Texas ... I type with an accent!!)
Now, if anyone wants to give me a pointer on how to get the pictures to display, I'd be more than happy to listen!!!! After all, I'm of the opinion, "If you got it, flaunt it!!"
Bevis - Thanks for the warning on the inks. I'll try not to drool over them until I get them framed!! :-D
And I wouldn't object to the original sketches!!!!!! But I know some artists like to keep those for themselves. So that's strictly up to you. :-D
I was CONSIDERING, maybe when I get the art framed, of printing out the e-mails about the pictures and having those framed with the art. Then again, I'm just funny that way. ;-)
KP - It'll be even cooler on Saturday when I get them in MY HOT LITTLE HANDS!!!!!!
FC - I'm tyrin' to start a Legion World collection!!! I need art from the other artists!!! But I'm workin' on it!! ;-)
Cobalt - You have NO idea!!!!!! But you might. :-D Whatcha doin' in early October?
Oh yeah ... one more thing .... YAY!!! I'm finally home after a long day at work!!!!!

Actually, it's not so bad now since they've gone out of fashion but it still bugs me. I kind of expect it tghough, so everyone gets at least one warning. Beagz, course you can have the preliminary sketches. I checked and I don't have any for the Canary pics (not sure why, I'm sure I did some), but I have a couple for the Joker one which show how he might have been different. Origionally he had a little Robin and Batgirl in his hand and a Batman hanging by him, and I did consider doing him face on too but neither quite worked. drop me a mail with your address and I'll sned them to you (try my regular one, but if that doesn't work try bevismusson@yahoo.co.uk since my work mail keeps blocking random stuff for no real reason).
