Cuttter's sword in Elfquest was New Moon.

The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Doomgiver
Farslayer
Stonecutter

Many of these swords had other names as well ie stonecutter is the Sword of Siege and Sightblinder is also the sword of stealth.
They all had unique powers (and weaknesses).
Wow! I'd totally forgotten about this series... Sure I read a lot of these books, but can't remember the details other than they were quite entertaining (for a high school kid)...

Man I love the 80s. I have Blackstar and his nemsis Overlord somewhere in my old toy box. Blackstar brought a dwarf and Overlord brought a demon. I remember really liking the demon. smile

"How many can you think of (and who wielded them)?"

Let's see...

"All courtesy of Answers.com"

Well, isn't that cheating, and doesn't that kinda KILL the conversation? (Somebody used to do that on the DC boards all the time...)

"what about Thundarr the barbarian's sun sword?"

That always cracked me up. The censors at the time would not permit a real sword, since a sharp-bladed instrument was something kids might imitate-- picking up a knife, etc., and cutting themselves of someone else with it.

So they came him a FLAMING sword instead, and in the 2nd episode he SET FIRE to an entire field. Story editor Steve Gerber once joked about how THAT one got past the censors...!

Did I miss something that said this was a game? If so we need to move it to the appropriate forum.

And if I killed the conversation, this is a pretty talkative corpse.

Luckily, there are no shortages of men naming their swords (we'll be moving on to the Freudian analysis of this phenomena later on...).

Valkyrie's sword was named Dragonfang.

Nemesis (of Alpha Flight) had a molecule-thick sword, but I don't recall it having a name.

The Shining Knight most likely had a named sword, but I couldn't tell you what it was.

I used to get high on life, but I built up a tolerance.

I think it was called the "Bobbit", but I'm not 100% sure... smile

Deadlock from "The A.B.C. Warriors" wielded "The Ace of Swords"

I think it was the rather unimaginatively named "Sword of Power".

Articulating his thoughts wasn't one of He-Man's strong points. We're lucky it wasn't called "Sharp Hitting Thing".

big fan of chinese & japanese movies, but don't have a reference book, have to watch the movies again...

in the new computer animated movie 'Dragon Blade' there are the title sword, the Wood-Spirit Sword and Mountain Cleaver.

In One Piece anime, Roronoah Zoro's swords all have names.

The movie based on the Hong-Kong comic Stormriders' uses many named swords (and i believe you can purchase replicas of many of them)

oh, and also in Nemesis, his villian Torquemada had the 'Chain-Sword' (of which a friend of mine has been working on a replica for some time)

'Sharp Hitting Thing'. HAH.

I'd like to see an average joe hero have a sword called Ralph. wink That'd be kinda cool.
