In Canada we're getting this US cable show, but I missed the last episode where the married surgeon reveals his affair with another woman to his son and recommends that they should both keep it secret from Mum. What else did I miss? I heard there was some real sleaze this ep.

the doctor having the affair, the woman has inoperable cancer or something. Christian's works out a trade with his rival plastic surgeon(the guy who wanted christian to join his practice) where the rival gets the blonde girlfriend and christian gets the rival's lamberguini(sp). Hr more or less blows her off, its all fake and his rival coaxes the blonde into bed. In the morning she going to leave and basically tells the guy she is not interested and he isnt worth it, he explains that he will care for her and love when christian in the end will throw her out, and then tells her how he traded her for the car. She leaves and then that evening she ends up at christian's, where she more or less coaxes him into bed, does the kinky thing with tying up and he's into it, she then takes out a knife, she starts giving a couple of scratches with the knife, and leads him to believe she will kill him. she asks why he couldnt just love her, and he says that its not her its that he has never loved anyone. She gets up and dressed and tells him she cant kill him cause he is already dead inside,and says she's keeping the car and at the end she ends up at the rival's place.

DO YOU WATCH THE SHIELD ON GLOBAL?

No, I don't watch The Shield. I don't include too many "heavy" dramas in my limited viewing schedule. There's too much of it in real life as it is (not necessarily mine, mind you). Besides, I've seen Michael Chickliss (sp?) at these awards shows and he just bugs me. Also, I can't get past his image from that other show he used to be on when he wasn't all bald and buffed out. What was that show called?

Yep,

Basic premise: 2 plastic surgeons, one unethical, unmarried and sleazy (he used to be on Charmed); and the other surgeon is(presumably) the straight arrow, married with a teenage kid (who looks like he's already had some plastic surgery for real).

The show's got sex, swearing and some scalpel work.

I don't follow every episode, but it's entertaining when I do catch it.

caught the pilot by accident and the show is better than expected, a bit six feet under with it's humour.

in the first ep we get:

Julian McMahon getting botox shots in his penis.

Liposuctio that get's set on 'blow'.

The main characters bonding while they wrap hams round the corpse for alligator disposal.

not must see, but the occasional chuckle worth it.

we get this in the UK in a couple of weeks !!!

i'm gonna check it out ....

the pilot episode aired this evening !!! it was pretty okay and actually a little more serious than, i thought it would be ....

Shudder. The very idea of this show sends shivers down my spine.

The closest I come to hospital drama these days are infrequent episodes of 'Scrubs'.

if anyone saw the season finale, i missed the very last minute, could someone fill me in. I have a very good idea what happened but gotta be sure.
dont forget to put SPOILER for our friends who have just started getting it.

Ultra-Matt -its not really played for laughs but the doctors are yummy.

The show has been great this year -- and it was due to character developments, not just sex and surgery scenes for shock value (well, there was the mother/son incest stuff, but turns out she was really a guy and not his mother, so...).

The cliffhanger looked really bad for Christian, but isn't this like the fourth or fifth time one of the docs has had their features threatened? Seems a tad overdone. Christian in particular has been restrained and tortured (or almost tortured) more times than Robin, the boy wonder.

Oh, and how about Famke Jansen getting that "Pheonix" speach?? Coincidence or fate... ?

I'm a huge fan of this show right now (this and Rescue Me are the only shows I watch outside of sports and the Real World/Real World-Road Rules challenges).

The acting is suberb, the show is interesting and the characters are fascinating and really start to grow on you. I haven't seen any of season one yet, so I'm hoping to get that for Christmas. Each episode is disturbing it's own way, but thought-provoking and strangely satisfying.

And it looks BAD for Christian right now. The carver is a very disturbing character.

Anyone else think the Carver is going to be the "Zennis" coach?

I started watching this season..man I love this show. It really is well written.
I missed the first season but FX is showing them in order on Sunday night at 9 pm (Texas time)
The first episode was really good.

I thought the Carver was gonna be the messed up incest boy..but they threw a wrench in that.
I dont have a clue.
