I went to see this this morning. I don't read the comic but I had seen the first movie and found it entertaining.
I also found this one entertaining (although I am still glad I went to the matinee and didn't pay full price)
I am getting tired of the obligatory big fight on the city street. I also figured out how the villian of the movie would be defeated fairly quickly into the movie Click Here For A Spoiler He had a twin sister who felt what he did and he got the same wounds she did. Have you figured out how he is defeated?
Big Dog! Big Dog! Bow Wow Wow!

First movie was great fun. I've not read the comic but am looking forward to seeing HBII before end of summer.
This would be a great drive-in flik, I'll have to check the local schedule.

Quislet, I agree they totally telegraphed the ending with the challenge and the means of the villain's defeat. I found it to be an entertaining flick, but I think they went too light-hearted with it.
You don't read the comic, but this is definitely a different animal in terms of its tone. I appreciate the cute bits, but that stuff worked more in the first film because the counter-balance was more of a contrast. This time out, the "serious" parts weren't enough of a contrast, making the whole thing seem too light.
And I thought they were too heavy-handed with the soap-opera/nobody-loves-me-because-I'm-a-freak relationship stuff.

I totally enjoyed it even though the preview showing I went to was overfull and I had to sit on the floor!
I thought it funnier than the first, had a more straightforward storyline, had better creature effects/sets/imagery (Del Toro is a GENIUS), and Johann Krause made a welcome addition to the team, even if they couldn't seem to work out whether he was supposed to be an antagonist or not! The Golden Army themselves were great visually, as was Johann's response to them...
Go see it! It's worth it if only for HB & Abe's heart-to-heart... with beer!
(And yeah - it was pretty obvious what was gonna happen at the end but I didn't mind.)
