Looks like ol' minesurfer done messed up and became a poppa.

For those of you wondering why my post count has dwindled, look no further. My first child, Aden James (AJ) was born last monday morning (8-6-7) at 1:45 am. The boy weighed 6 lbs 11 oz and was 21 inches long.

I have two nicknames for him already... Wild Bill Hiccup and Little Tootenstein... and he lives up to both of them.

All the women in the office coo over how cute he is and all the men say he's lucky he looks like his momma. The truth is... as of right now he favors me, only with more hair... so I'll side with office women for now.

If you've read this far please help yourself to a cyber cigar and smoke it at your leisure.

Minesurfer,

Congrats to you and your wife. You have won a 3 years supply of poopy diapers, a couple of months of late night feedings, and tons of worries (about things you never worried about before). But that's not all, You've also won the most precious gift in the world, a child of your own.

Wishing health and happiness always for AJ.

Lady Minesurfer? Minesurfette? Too smurfy?

It's the beginning of a great adventure. I'm almost 9 years into it, and it certainly is never boring. Congrats!

Certainly would like to thank everyone individually for the well wishing, but alas parenthood does not afford the parent the luxury of time... so thank you everyone for the well wishes.

The best way to describe the first two weeks of parenting is... OVERWHELMING. In both a good way and a bad way, but you adjust and make sure the baby is fed, dry, clean, and warm. After that you try and sleep.

Will post more when I get time. Again thank you one and all.

I imagine it is hard to get to sleep initially, worrying about the baby and all. And then when you finally drop off - WAH!!!!!!!
