I love Lost In Space. One of my favorite episodes was the one where Will made it back to earth and no-one would believe him. My favorite season was the first season. Remember the one with Michael J. Pollard...the boy was stuck in the mirror demension?

Yeah I just recently re-watched the series on DVD. Still love it despite all the Wonkyness.

Have to think back a bit about episodes and stuff...

It was a rare thing when I was a kid to ever start watching anything from the 1st episode. I first tuned in LIS on what turned out to be the 6th episode... "Welcome, Stranger", with Warren Oates as Jimmy Hapgood. Back then, they had more episodes per season than you could run twice in a season, so rerun time tended to be the "better" episodes. EXCEPT in the case of LIS, since each episode ended on a contrived "cliffhanger" (really just a lead-in for the next week's story, completely uncalled for), they apparently decided not to "go back". I NEVER got to see the pilot episode until the show was cancelled and went into reruns-- 3 YEARS later! Imagine my shock to find out the "pilot" effectively consisted of a 5-PART story. (Which I had missed the entirety of.)

For several months, LIS was probably, by default, my favorite tv show. Until BATMAN debuted. Not really sure HOW I managed to start watching that from the very 1st episode, but I did... unfortunately, since both BATMAN and LOST IN SPACE were on at the SAME TIME (Wednesday / 7:30) this meant that, for the 2nd half of the season, I consistently MISSED the first HALF of every remaining LIS episode! (So again, it took years to find out the resolution to all those "cliffhangers".)

I swear, the way my memory works is scary sometimes! (More later)

Actually, Prof, in the lead up to the next story, the last few bits were added - until the concept was scrapped by the third season....Then it was a few scenes of the next episode - designed to whet the appetite.

Until that giant carrot fiasco... shudder

Oh come on, "The Great Vegetable Rebellion" was NO WAY the worst episode of LIS! There were at least a half-dozen FAR worse than that!!!

The kid who picked on Will in "Return From Outer Space" later re-surfaced on "The Promised Planet" as Edgar - "Fix me a phosphate fizz, frosh-baby!"
