The only reason I do not have it now is I needed more storage and they had not released the 64gb model at that time. Without wi-fi you do miss out on some of the immediacy of fun things it can do but the amount of apps you can get now and the two new cameras will go a long way towards counteracting that. So I would completely recommend one even if you do not have wi-fi but will say they are even better if you do.

I found out my library has free wi-fi, so I will get to play around with it a bit. I've been browsing iTunes and there's certainly a lot of useful stuff available. And the games, of course. It actually can be touchy (no pun intended) in wifi zones. Sometimes it's automatic, and sometimes you have to fiddle with settings; it doesn't connect as automatically as my Mac laptop does. but it is quite handy. The childhood friend Exnihil never had.
