Anyone remember those two tv films from the late-1970s? Starred Reb Brown as Cap.

What is YOUR opinion of the costume, especially the motorcycle helmet design?

They're out on DVD to conencide with the recent 2011 film.

They were so awful that I have been fighting the urge to impulse buy them. They're in the same league as the Spider-Man stuff from back then. I loved them as a kid because that was really all we had to go with, but they are really bad...

I'm sure I will end up with them at some point.

Motorcycle and helmet were cool.

Action was standard 70's fare.

Shield and acting were lame. I think both were plastic.

How would the Red Skull translate in live action during that period? wear a pullover hood or a red motorcycle helmet with a skull painted on the visor?

I saw the first one a long time ago (for me, that is, not nearly as long ago as 1979!) I don't remember too much, but I recall being horrified that they not only moved his origin out of WW2 but left little reason for him to wear a super-patriot costume at all. Even the contemporary Spider-Man stuck closer to the idea.

I'm old enough to have been disappointed at the original airings of Hulk, Wonder Woman(though not Linda Carter, just the show in general), Spider-Man and the Captain America movies as well.

And then there are those two, little known gems, the live action "roast the superhero's" and its companion movie as well.
