If you're looking for something "new"...

"I WANT SOME SEX" -- Evan Foster

(why his latest album was released under his name instead his band's, The Boss Martians, escapes me...)

It's not really new, having come out in 2004, but I have recently become addicted to CALL ON ME by Eric Prydz... been a while since I've grooved on a kewl club track. Click below to watch the awesome video in Windows Media Viewer! A gang of sweaty babes doing areobics-- a throwback to the 80s, for sure. Fitting, I suppose, since the song is a sample of Steve Winwood's 80s tune VALERIE. (Steve, by the way, LOVED the song and rerecorded the vocals for the mix).

CALL ON ME / Eric Prydz

Personally, I think the sole GUY in the class is a hottie. As does the instructor, apparently!

Sigh... sometimes I feel like I'm not a kid. What's in my CD player right now? The musical numbers from Les Miserables. shake

Master of the House! I love that song...

New songs on my pod:
Coral - In The Morning
The Vanity Project - That's All, That's All (Steven Page from Barenaked Ladies)
Kayne West - New Workout Plan (not super new but funny)
Shakira - La Tortura (I don't speak Spanish but I like Shakira and Sanz so, rock on)

I've been looking at this video on and off for some time, Lash! I had no idea it was new though, I really thought it was from the 80's!

Cobes, the sampled vocal loop is absolutely from Steve Winwood's 80s song "Valerie"-- call on me, I'm the same boy I used to be"-- and the video is actually a spoof of the 80s movie PERFECT starring John Travolta and Jamie Lee Curtis! So though CALL ON ME is less than a year old it wouldn't exist in any fashion without the glorious 1980s!

*wistful sigh*... the 80s...

The video is funny and hot at the same time!

Another fave song of mine recently, and I'm not sure how old this is, is Brad Paisley's "Mud on the Tires". Now, I don't really listen to country music at all (I guess I only like about 5 songs in total, just never had much interest), but my g/f absolutely loves it and she turned me on to this song. The song rocks! It's the perfect 'relax and enjoy life' type of song IMO.

Party Ben's mashups rule! I'm still having trouble finding his U2/Janet Jackson blend but his other work is a lot of fun...

I got a bunch of new CDs this week from work and burned some today--all good and worth checking out:

*Martha (sister of Rufus)Wainwright's self titled CD

* The Bravery (self titled)

* Spoon (Gimme Fiction)--

* Stars (Set Yourself on Fire)

* Eisley (Room Noises)

* Keren Ann (Nolita)

* Annie (Anniemal)--Norwegian dance diva; borrows heavily from the Madonna/Kylie school. The tracks "Chewing Gum" and "Me Plus One" are irresistible.

Other than that last one, those are all "Alternative" music (does that even MEAN anything anymore?), but my new favorite song is actually--wait for it--COUNTRY: "Kerosene" by Miranda Lambert. It kicks ass.

Would it be possible to burn individual songs from various artists onto CD rather than just doing stuff by one artist only?

Yeah--you can build playlists of songs from as many CDs you want (well, until the CD space is filled) and then burn them to a CD. That's one of my favorite past-times! Every program for that is a bit different, but they're all pretty easy. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be breezing through it!

I remember the days of the vinyl record and how from time to time they brought out the "Best Of.." for a particular year...

Id love to be able to compile playlists like those...

Get an Ipod or Another MP3 player...you can playlist to your hearts content and have your own little personal soundtrack that fits in your pocket

Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

I love my Ipod. Once I figured out how to use it, it's great. I have an adapter thingie to make it play in the car, and a mini stereo thing it plugs into for the house--great fun to make different playlists!
