It's based on the book "The Invention of Hugo Cabret" which is one of my favorite books of the past few years. I'm typically a bit cautious with expectations regarding how well a favorite book will translate to film. This is the rare exception of the film perhaps surpassing the source material. I can't recommend it highly enough. Go see it already. Better yet, go see it in 3D. Better yet, get the book and see the movie! Beauty's where you find it. Not just where you bump and grind it.
