So as the 3rd season is starting this Sunday & I couldn't find a previous dicussion thread here we are.
I've been a big fan of the show since it started & can't wait to see the new season. In fact some of my favorite memories of SDCC'09 was meeting Adam Baldwin (Casey) and going to the Chuck panel.
If you weren't already aware season 2 came out on dvd this week & there is currently a marathon on if it on Scifi now.

New Season (the last) starts Friday. Hopefully they go all out on the funny side of things (and with Morgan taking a more prominent role, they pretty much have to).

Not the best premiere the series has had. Seems like even with the new status quo things felt a little.... stale? Chuck giving the massage wasn't that funny, nor was the Morgan tango, or the Lester/Jeff scam. Hopefully things turn around next week.

I like that there is a slightly different status quo with every season.
I would have liked for them to have had their money for a while, though. It seemed forced, and useless, to me that they suddenly lost everything. They've already got enough going against them.
What? They would have no motive for doing spy work without a desperate need for money? Chuck is already hip deep in this stuff through blood ties. Plus the gang clearly LOVE this work. Okay, apparently it was a motivation to make the Buy More profitable, and not just a cover, but this also is unnecessary to me.
It was like sitcoms in the 50's and 60's, where no matter what windfall happened, by the end of the episode things were back to normal.
This was an utterly superfluous character need hammered into the plot without giving Chuck and friends a chance to enjoy the money first. If they allowed that for half a season, THAT would have made the loss more of a shock.
Anyway, I AM truly glad Chuck's sister is no longer kept in the dark about spy stuff, and is in fact right in the thick of things studying the intersect. I do get sick of the "can't let _____ find out I'm a spy/superhero/mobster/witch" angle that TV loves so much.
I'm rather sick of the Buy More guys. The show has moved past the Buy More. Or maybe it just seems so because they aren't using it well anymore, like they have to use it just because contractually they're paying the actors anyway.
