There was a show that I used to watch called "Mr. Merlin" - the special-effects were extra-groovy and it was a shame it had a limited run. What became of the young guy who played the apprentice? I think his name was Clark Brandon?

some of the old shows i really liked at the time only ran for like ONE season !
anyone remember .....
TV 101 featuring a young Matt Le Blanc from 'Friends' and he was at school, and took part in a film/tv class, and they had they own school tv channel !
Bronx Zoo set in a New York 'tough' school ! and featured the actress who played Kirby Colby from 'Dynasty' [ can't remember her name though ] also had the actor who played 'LOU GRANT' [ is it ?? ]
Glitter about a magazine company in NYC, and i think the office was set in the WORLD TRADE CENTRE !? and featured the actress that played Katherine Wentworth from 'Dallas' !
need to try and remember some other one .....
Matthew.

Yeah, yeah. I remember Mr. Merlin. It was okay.
Other forgotten series I liked (these were not my all-time favourites; just the ones I liked that you never hear about these days):
- Misfits of Science (featuring a young Courteney Cox) - Airwolf (a better show than Blue Thunder) - Cover Up (but only with Jon-Erik Hexum; it wasn't the same after he died) - Voyagers! (for more information on the Schleswig-Holstein question, consult your local library!) - Manimal - Automan (does anybody remember this one?) - Whiz Kids (anybody?) - Street Hawk (like Knight Rider, only with a motorcycle!) - Best of the West

Press Gang Degrassi You cant do that on Television Let the Blood run free (Australian) Kids Incorporated (did you know Fergie from the BEP was on this show? craaaaazy...also Jennifer Love Hewwit - but noone cares about her)
Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

"Hey...hey...HEEEEEY...MIS-FITS!" - Airwolf (a better show than Blue Thunder)
Agreed. And it had another of the best TV themes of all time (Airwolf theme composer Sylvester Levay was a former protege of no less than Giorgio Moroder.) Street Hawk (like Knight Rider, only with a motorcycle!) And it was better than Knight Rider, less of a kiddie show.

Fame...and I really wanted to have it live forever... Ratbags (Austalian comedy sketch-show) Matt Houston Charles In Charge (I think it was an 80's sitcom - someone write in and confirm, please?) ALF - the only annoying thing about the Melmacian was that he liked cats - a little too much...

It's Your Move - Jason Bateman starred in this sitcom that was way ahead of its time.
Sledge Hammer - "Trust me. I know what I'm doing." Also had one of the coolest themes ever, too.
Automan - I do remember this one vaguely as a kid. I liked it, but cant remember why. Glowy blue guy who could turn into a car or something?
Lotto - I'll be really impressed if anyone else remembers this one. Basically two guys went around informing winners they won the lottery.
Then there were all of the Private Investigator shows - Hardcastle & Mc Cormick, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Crazy Like a Fox, Simon & Simon. Great shows all.

Speaking of detective shows: -- Riptide - there was a boat, a pink helicopter, two studly guys plus a nerd with a robot! What's not to love?
-- Masquerade - I had a massive crush on a young Kirstie Alley in that one. It was a Mission Impossible type show that recruited civilians, each posessing a specific talent that was useful in their secret missions.
-- Tales of the Gold Monkey - Indiana Jones with a touch of Casablanca but Stephen Collins was very likeable and it was a fun show (I mean, it had a dog with an eyepatch!)
-- What was that Ann Jillian show where she was the ghost of a dead actress who befriends a teen guy? I was so into Ann Jillian on that waitress tv show which I swear went through three different names ("Making a Living" was one of them I think)

I remember all those.
The thing with Riptide... they had a houseboat, a speedboat, a helicopter, a big pickup truck, a sports car, and a woodie. But they never got paid for any of their cases. How did they pay for the gas for all these vehicles?
I should have mentioned Tales of the Gold Monkey and Masquerade. Liked 'em both.
The Ann Jillian show was 'Jennifer Slept Here'.

Don't forget: The Powers of Matthew Star. Not only does this hot alien have powers, but they actually name the show after them! I loved the episode where he caught the bad guy by changing a life-size "tin soldier" mannequin into a real person and having him subdue him.
Voyagers! Jon-Erik Hexum (requiescat in pace) jaunting around through time, getting into situations that require him to take his shirt off (kind of a precursor to Quantum Leap in that respect).
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

One guy was from the "Intersweeps Lottery" and the other guy was from the Internal Revenue Service. The show had a disclaimer at the end, lest anyone think there actually was such a lottery.

Hey OM, I think you are confusing Ann Jillian with Teri Copley who was in "It's A Living"...Miss J was in "Jennifer Slept Here" as noted on a previous page.

The previous page is five posts up.
I believe Jillian was on both shows.

Omg, that place is great. And they've got a cartoon section, too -- I finally found a place for the G.I. Joe fanfic I'm working on. Thank you so much for posting that link, Arachne.

Stealth, Check out www.joesightings.com for all your Joe needs. It's totally Airwolf! Here's a few others that I remember: My Secret Identity The live action Superboy show...all I remember is that Lana Lang was a hot redhead. 3-2-1 Contact Jamie

Hmmm...
Thanks, Stratum, I'll take that into consideration. Thing is, I think my story might be too morally ambiguous for an all-Joe site.
Hint: remember the episode where Lady Jaye and Destro discover that they're distant relatives?
