The actor specifically said the new pilot was for NBC, same company as Sci-Fi. It could be a cover story to keep the story active until next season.

I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!

No, not that...

In tonight's episode, once again, by the most amazing coincidence, something I did in my BG tribute, "2230", way back in the early 80's, turned up on the new series! What it was, was people being freaked out by a CAT on board! Especially, the scene on the flight deck was almost identical to something I did over 20 years ago. Wild!

The 2nd issue of "2230" was never published... I don't even have it online yet. So it cracks me up that, in some uncanny way, I seem to be on the same wavelength with whoever's writing the new tv show! (I'm not making this up...) I guess that's one of the reasons I continue to enjoy more than I expected to.

I interpreted everything to mean that Starbuck was a hidden Cylon. I really thought everything pointed clearly to that conclusion. Anybody else?

(of course, this means the character will be returning later on!)

Yes everything did CLEARLY point to Starbuck as a Cylon but:

It was to obvious. The writer on this show are not that clumsy.

Having Starbuck as one of the main focal points for the human experience and then making her a Cylon would invalidate most of what the show has done so far.

There is another Cylon sleeper on Galatica, D'Anna recognized them, probably from New Caprica, when she was shown the 5. I am leaning towards Gaeta, Dee, Roslin, or Roslin's assistant.

Yeah Starbuck is way to obvious. One thought I had was that maybe she was the first copy and that the reason Leoben wanted her to fulfillher destiny was because her copies wouldn't kick in until after she died, the death of the first copy being what begins the process of replication.

but I'm leaning towards both Tigh and his wife Ellen as being sleeper Final Fivers.

Last episode just made me wonder over & over whether Apollo will ever stop being a shmuck. The same happens anytime an episode focuses on him. I hope this trial bit doesn't drag on for many more weeks.

I was suddenly reminded that one of the episodes after "War of the Gods" was "Murder On The Rising Star", in which Starbuck was accused of killing someone, and put ON TRIAL for his life. The prosecuting attourney was Brock Peters, who played Ben Sisko's dad on DS9-- but he also played Darth Vader on the STAR WARS radio shows!

Another interesting "parallel" between old series & new...

That's... a GOOD catch!

We'll have to keep our eyes glued next week to see if the number goes down to 41,398.

I would love it if Ellen Tigh were a Final Five, just so that we'd get to see that wonderful actress some more.

If she didn't have a kid with Galen Tyrol, I'd be thinking Cally was a Final Five right about now. She did shoot Sharon, after all (which could have been a convenient way of getting her off Galactica.)

Of course, if that were the case, then all the Cally-haters out there (and there are a LOT of 'em, just go to televisionwithoutpity.com) would yell out in a unison NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Signs are pointing to Gaeta. Though I half expect the writers to wuss out and pick someone like Racetrack or Hot Dog.

I keep on re-editing this post. smile

So Sharon told Baltar there were 8 models in the Fleet before Cally shot her. Accounted for in those 8 are Sharon, Doral, Leoben, Cavil, Shelly (Six from "Six Degrees of Separation"), and D'Anna.

I don't remember if Simon was ever shown to have infiltrated the fleet. Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that if Simon wasn't in the fleet (and Sharon was telling the truth, which I have to believe she was, because why wouldn't she at that point in her character progression), that 2 and only 2 of the Final Five are in the fleet.

Two theories:
-- Starbuck was being given visions by one of the F5 (who took on Leoben's appearance) the same way Balthar is given visions of Six. Starbuck ejected at the last minute (there was a shot of her hand on the lever) and snatched up by the ship that only she could see.

-- (my girlfriend came up with this one a couple months ago) The *Chief* is a Cylon (it would make Dean Stockwell's "I haven't seen you at any of the meetings" comment ironic).

I don't think Chief is an option. He and Cally had a child which would make Sharron's child one of two instead of unique. This same situation leaves Cally out as well. Others have 'participated' in the childhood's of Adama and Lee so they're out. (This model seams to be full grown, not having a child mode)

I think we need to look at those individuals that don't seam to have any family around them.

One thing to consider - Roslin was VERY interested in Sharron's baby. So interested that she told almost everyone the child died and hid it for herself.

Aintitcoolnews has massively spoilery information on four of the missing five (and possibly reveals the fifth as well). Read at your own peril, as it spoils both of the hours of the two-part finale (and reveals a bunch of other stuff from the eps, in addition to these names)!

For anybody that's recording the finale, it's apparently going to run about 5 minutes long so adjust accordingly.

I'm going to go spoiler free for this one, but I'm expecting it to be a long wait til Jan. 08.

Just heard BSG will be back for a full season next year, 22 instead of 13 episodes. And we get a direct-to-DVD movie later this year.

The 2 hour special will be aired near the end of this year then be released on DVD. It is rumored that the 2 hour special will be a stand alone movie covering the exploits of the Battlestar Pegasus between the original Cylon sneak attack and when she caught up to Galactica during season 2.

See Sci Fi for the Press Release

FRAK!!!

I just wanted to point out, in a completely non-spoilery way, that nothing was verified. That is to say, we don't know if they actually are who they think they are.

Except, of course, for the one thing that was verified at the end of the episode. I am a happy, happy fan. smile

It's a Dylan song: All Along The Watchtower, and think about it's lyrics within the context of BSG:

Quote
"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."

All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.

Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.

Although it still gets plenty of radio play today, could the signal be from when it was a top 40 song, back in 1968? How far from earth would they need to be if they were receiving 40 year old radio signals?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEAH!!! Best episode since the escape from New Caprica.

I didn't quite see it coming... but ever since Roslin gave everybody amnesty, I kept thinking, "Oh, poor Baltar, if only he'd have left WITH the fleet, HE'd have gotten amnesty, too!"

I never for one moment believed she was dead...

...and hey-- the original 1978-79 season ended with a radio signal from Earth...

Fun to see four of the five revealed.

I called Tigh back when Deanna apologized to that member of the 'final five' back at the Temple. But the other three were a complete surprise to me (or would have been, had I not spoiled myself last week, anyway).

I would *never* have called the Chief (and hey, looks like Hera isn't the only half-Cylon around!). Calle would have been a more fun choice, as I like the irony of one Cylon sleeper self-righteously blowing away another without realizing it...

My other 'calls' would have been Roslin and Gaeta. Gaeta seems pretty much in the clear, but I'm still holding out for Roslin to be the last of the final five.

Oh, yeah, the psychotic freakshow is back from her couple days of being 'dead.' Whoopty-crap. I'd been praying for her death all season, and now I feel robbed.

Back when I thought Kara could be one of them, I figured that Sam couldn't be, since I had come to the (erroneus, obviously) conclusion that the Cylon sleeper-agents would instinctively avoid each other (since they seemed interested in half-Cylon babies). But the Chief and Sharon shacked up, and now we see Sam and Tory hooking up, so that theory's a loser...

Maybe Cylons just really like each other.

Thinking harder about it, I'm not sure exactly what's going on with Starbuck. Didn't her viper blow up in the maelstrom? So... how'd she get the new one? I'm wondering if she's another occurrence of a Chip Six/Chip Baltar, only this time she appears to Lee whenever he's out in his viper. I hope this isn't the case, as I really think the psychotic freakshow is kind of awesome.

No way those 4 are cyclons, it's just too easy. The writers are sucking everyone in and there's all this "outrage" but you just know when the new season starts they're going to pull out the rug from under us. The four are connected for sure, but not necessarily in the way we're led to believe. Maybe the music signifies that the 5 have been turned on... and these 4 have the gift to hear the switch being turned on, not necessarily that it's being turned on within themselves... but maybe around someone that they've been close to, For Sam: Starbuck, for Chief: Callie, for Tigh: Ellen or Adama and for Tory Roslin?

There's a theory going around that perhaps the final five have been in the fleet a long time and that maybe there have been halflings for sometime, with Roslin being one of them... explaining why she and Hera have such a strong bond...

whatever the case, if there's one thing this show has taught me, it's that all is never as it would appear
