I love this series... I love this series... I love this series.
And have I mentioned how much I love this series?
And how TOTALLY, out of this world... mind-blowing would it be if while rummaging thru the forest of Kobol the raptor crew comes across...
the characters of "Lost".
LOL!
*Title of thread edited for the new season.*

That would be perfect!
Missed the first showing of the season premier (it started 32 minutes ago) so I've got the second episode added to my TiVo season pass.

Some part of me loves this series.
Some part of me wishes it would have a few more resolutions per episode.
And some part of me sure doesn't mind seeing Apollo nearly shirtless and in handcuffs.

I can't help but think that when Starbuck injured her leg last season, it sidelined her from piloting the rest of the season. How will they handle Adama's recovery? Can he command from a hospital bed? I have to imagine we're not going to see him back to normal at all this season (even if he makes it back to the bridge).
I hope Helo makes it back to Galactica. Poor bastard is one of the main characters, but since he's not on the ship, he's treated as tertiary.

Actually it's starting to remind me of Legion, w/different members marooned in different scenarios, every storyline being shown on screen, the viewer forced to juggle who is where... it's like Legion Lost fourfold!

I wonder if we'll see a "battle of the Boomers" this season? btw, when Tom Zarek (sp?) runs for President, Dirk Benedict has *got* to be his running mate

Watched episode two today and somewhere during it (I think when Gauis was looking at all the skeletal remains) I had a flash of something I hadn't felt since high school. That of the old style sci-fi epic. Like Dune or Foundation. I could see this whole history playing out like I used to do when reading those series. I haven't been struck with such, for lack of a better word, awe, in so long it kind of shocked me.
I just hope they can keep up this level of story telling.

I was wondering if this "Lost Planet of the Gods" tribute was shaping up to a 4-parter, but the thing's NOT over yet! Tigh is certainly digging himself a VERY deep hole that I doubt even Adama will be able to pull him out of when this is all over.
Surprised there was NO sign of Starbuck AT ALL this week. Not even a tiny glimpse of "Cylon-Occupied Caprica" as they've been annoyingly going back to just about every single week before this. Hmm...
Now, did anyone else notice, among an entire cast who seem designed to be as DIFFERENT as possible from the 1978-79 characters, that the chain-smoking DOCTOR who was operating on Adama is the first person on the show who's personality is almost EXACTLY like the original, played by George Murdock?? (Murdock later played a recurring character on BARNEY MILLER-- he was the guy from Internal Affairs.)

Well, what else do you expect from the guy who played Dutch on "Soap" around the same time?

I'm glad the gang on Korbal was rescued. The show's been a little too scattered of late. On the one hand, it sets the tone for how chaotic things are with Adama being sidelined, but the show was getting spread a little too thin. We didn't even see anything of Starbuck this ep and I'm still waiting for a real followup with Boomer.
The drama on Korbal was really well done though. From Callie's freezing to the breakdown of command and Balthar's "rite of manhood", these guys will likely be dealing with the personal repercussions of this for some time (and the Chief still doesn't know about Boomer does he?).

Great episode, lots of small touches, like Dualla's hand tilting gesture to Gaeta which made it evident that Tigh's drinking is a widely known issue. Also Billy's devotion to the President, Apollo's subliminal mocking of Tigh in front of the rest of the crew, Gaius showing a backbone and being loyal to the Chief (sick to death though of all the bs w/Six) and Ellen working her own agenda was interesting. Looking forward to them eventually fleshing out Gaeta and the surviving Kobal medic (Selonus?,otherwise why have her live?)
And Caprica Boomer is definitely coming back to pick up the other rwo... it'll be interesting to hear where she's been.

Well, things certainly happened in tonight's episode. I hope Sharon doesn't get reduced face time.

I liked how the doctor was the only guy who openly criticized Col. Tigh with his sarcasm. Somebody needs to take that guy down several pegs...soon. He's not only a disgrace to his uniform and his position, but an insult to the memory of the charcter HIS character is based on.

At least Adama's back on his feet.
I hope Starbuck gets back with that arrow soon. Seeing her shoot hoops is not what I tune in for.
The ending was sad, but you could tell the Jack Ruby moment was coming. Still, I didn't totally buy the motivation of the person who did it.

The first season premier, "33", won a Hugo award for best dramatic presentation, short form, this past weekend.

No kidding, Michelle Forbes was cast in the roll.

Nifty. She's a good actress. Does this mean she'll have a son named Sheba?

Season 2 has picked up right where they left off. Speaking of getting that "SciFi Epic" feeling--I can always tell when I'm really getting into something if I'm thinking about it when I'm not reading/watching it. DS9, Buffy, Angel, Firefly (rerunning on Sci Fi on Fridays, damned if it's not much, much better than the short shrift it got on network TV...can't wait for the movie!), Lost, now Galactica are examples.
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.
Don't judge me!
