Okay, this is from Ain't It Cool News, and while Harry Knowles has a legacy of misrepresentation and rumor-mongering, his source at Warner Bros. is generally right on the money on a lot of stuff. Here's the link...

Beyonce! Lois Lane! ARG!

Just when you think this proposed movie can't get any worse, TPTB at WB find a way to keep the landslide marrily sliding along...

Of course, this is probably all just an unfounded rumor.

Highly unlikely this will pan out.

Big-money projects habitually have big names attached to them to keep everything in the public eye.

I wouldn't worry until filming actually begins and she's on the set.

Oh dear. I had HOPED this was a joke.

As much as I enjoy her music, dear Beyonce can't act her way out of a wet, ripped paper sack.

Well...maybe Ashton Kutcher will be Superman after all ... it almost makes sense now -- a warped kind of sense, but it explains where Warner Bros head is.

I own that issue! The premise is ridiculous, but the comic itself is actually trying to promote tolerance.

I've never really thought of Lois Lane as being bootilicious before.

Come to think of it, I'd prefer not to think of it now wink

Nah, you'd only need a bit of pink kryptonite smile

How funny. I almost made the comment yesterday that I would be less annoyed with Lois as a black woman than I would if she were blonde.

Then BAM -Chloe turns out to be Lois on Smallville. (insert Twilight Zone music here)

From The Comic Reel at CBR :

Quote
It seems that popular outcry had some effect. Ain't It Cool News' Harry Knowles followed up on his prior reports that Warner Brothers was looking at singer Beyonce Knowles for the role of Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman film. Knowles said, "Seems that McG had decided he wanted to go with Beyonce, nothing official had been signed at that point, HOWEVER, agents of other actresses that were up for the part, their agencies, a few secretaries and assistants here and there all heard that the part was no longer available and was going to Beyonce. Today, according to a plethora of sources, the part of Lois Lane is WIDE-OPEN and the line being spread was that Beyonce was, of course, never going to be Lois Lane, but rather ... ahem ... that was just a really bad idea that was being floated, and ... ahem ... of course Warner Brothers would ... ahem ... never do that, because of course they respect the source material and it's long and valued history ... ahem ..."

I'm not real thrilled about McG directing this movie, either.

No, No, Britney is going to be Lex Luthor.

The part of Krypto will be played by that monkey from Friends.

Burt Reynolds will be Jimmy Olson.

And Dakota Fanning is Perry White

The reason I could never get into Smallville is that Lana isn't a ravishing redhead. I've got no problem at all with promoting ethnic diversity on the airwaves. I'm very for it. But Lana has been a redhead for, what, 50+ years? Where do they get off changing Lana that much? Why not cast a blonde as Clark?

Ok, so I realize I'm taking it waaay too seriously, but still.

Remember that Warner Bros. originally floated the notion, via the gossip columnists, that Ronald Reagan and Ann Sheridan would have been the stars of "Casablanca."

It was done to keep the project in the news, and to boost the visibility of two Warners contract players, but they were never seriously considered for those roles of Rick and Ilsa.

And sixty years later, especially for Bogie and Bergman fans, it's still a nauseating scenario

I'd discount all such rumors about a film in the making until the cameras run on its first day of principal photography. And -- given how Claire Danes only became a capable replacement player in "Terminator 3" on its third day -- perhaps even later yet.

In the meantime ... McG?!?!?!?! He barely kept "Charlie's Angels" together and inside their C-cups in two movies, and that's a lame-brained property!

This rumor seems to be rearing it's ugly head again. McG is an idiot, but I've thought that ever since I saw Charlie's Angels 2 (and this is from a guy who actually really loved the first one.)

Beyonce\'s back as Lois!

As long as Warner Bros/DC let's people like McG decide who stars in their movies, I'll never watch one. If this movie ever gets made it'll go straight to video. I'd rather see Dolph Lundgren play the Punisher again than sit through a McG directed Superman movie.
