ComicBookResources had an article about the season finale of "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" and "...what surprises fans can expect from the season finale. "
I don't think the person who wrote that knows what the word *surprise* means! (hint, something UNexpected)
I used to like reading about hints of things to come to get me excited, but now it seems if you open that can of worms, you end up getting way too much - whether it's outright spoilers or information that affects the watching experience. (telling me there's a big twist at the end does actually affect my viewing experience even if I don't know what the twist is) It's gotten to the point where I can't even watch the "coming up next week" blurb at the end of shows or commericals for certain shows for fear of them giving away too much! In terms of comic books, I generally end up reading a lot of articles but try to avoid spoilers. (doesn't always work)
How do you all deal with it? Do you love seeing everything you can beforehand, do you feel that information is generally controlled enough that you can avoid spoilers without much trouble or do you have a sensory deprivation chamber to avoid information bleeding in?

It is a job to keep away from all the spoilers at times.

Spoliers due ruin things for me. I try to avoid them whenever I can. Comic bookos reviews of titles I plan to buy- don't read them until after I buy the book. I avoid the LOST topic until after I've seen the most recent episode.
Don't get me wrong, I like spoilers, and want them. But they would ruin a book/show/movie. So to get the best experience, I avoid them as much as possible.
Just spouting off.

I avoid spoilers at all costs. I used to check comic book resources and newsarama all the time but hardly ever visit them anymore. The spoilers on the internet I'd find for the longest time were really dampening my comic book experiences. The sacrifice I've had to make then is I'm really out of the loop on comic book news. Sometimes I don't hear about certain comics until way after they've been out (the only way I'd check out a new Marvel or DC I don't already have an invested interest in the character in is through a reccomendation from a Legion Worlder).
For TV shows, its harder, but I do what I can. Shows like Heroes, which I feel has dipped in quality really badly (though it was never one of the best shows on TV) I don't mind having spoiled, while Lost I will avoid spoilers at all costs.

Movie spoilers generally don't bother me. I'm not one of those people who would find Titanic or The Passion of the Christ to be 'spoiled' because I have a slight idea how they end. (Not that I've seen either movie, so bad examples, I guess!)
Watching a series, and finding out that character X dies in season 4 bugs me, because I don't want to watch seasons 1 through 3 knowing that character X is a goner.
But really, that's less a spoiler thing than a dislike of certain plot changes. Some shows that I liked a lot changed so dramatically that I ended up not only disliking the current show, but finding my experience viewing the older episodes to be ruined. (Likable characters being 'dirtied up' and, IMO, character assassinated, to further some plotline, or make some other character look better by comparison, is my kryptonite. I don't care if a character is nice, or a decent person, or whatever, but they should at least be *compelling* and consistent.)
The biggest issue I have with comic book spoilers is that they give the readers a chance to pre-emptively go nuts over something before they even read the comic. In some cases, nerd rage might well be justified, and there might indeed be no satisfying way that a certain awful sounding storyline could work out, but in other cases, the writer might have actually had a brilliant idea and made something work, and now his audience is being poisoned against even giving it a chance before they even read it!
(It's based on that logic that I bought issue 50 of the last run of LSH, regardless of the reviews. Yes, the people who railed against it were indeed right, it was nothing like the solicits, but I'd prefer to judge stuff for myself than reject something sight unseen.)
