Has anyone seen this yet? It premiered tonight on CTV. Really, really good. Lost and Heroes fans will like it, I think. It's not SF, though, but just as twisty. Nathan Fillion from Firefly is the star and Amy Acker from Angel is in it, too. In the US it premiers on Sunday on Fox, I think. There's a website here.

Yeah, the pilot isn't on until Sunday here. Then Monday, before 24, we get the first episode. Already have the DVR set to record the series. Nathan Fillion being in it assures that it has to be watched in our house.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'll have to find out when the next episode airs up here. I didn't even know it was going to be on tonight until I saw the programing list on the news.

I've been thinking about it a bit more. There could be a big problem with the basic premise of the show. It'd take a huge amount of resources and manpower to organize a race with this many contestants and research them all and make sure everybody involved keeps quiet about it. I can't imagine what could possibly be worth the trouble.

I thought about watching it, but I have little faith that Fox won't cancel it 5 episodes in and leave viewers in the lurch.

The 2 hour pilot was a good set up for the characters and got into how the race basically works. Can't wait for tonight's episode. This will make a good Monday replacement for when 24 ends.

Oh, damn, that's right! Fox again. shake This one probably doesn't have as big a budget as Firefly did, though.

It doesn't air again till Friday up here. :7

I watched the Pilot.

I quite liked it and am intrigued enough to watch the next few, but one area where I think this show suffers (especially in regards to Lost and Heroes - the two shows its being compared to) is in its supporting cast. I got into the stories of the main 3 characters (Husband, Mom and Stowaway) but everyone else just annoyed me. Even Dylan Baker who is one of my favourite actors.

Still, there were some good bits - the scene in the car between the Mom and her "husband" after the police station was great - and the premise intrigues me, so I'll stick around and see where it goes for now.

I think it's been pretty good so far. The twists and turns are a little too piled up on top each other, and some of the characters are annoying stereotypes, especially the "street guy." Overall, though, it's interesting enough to keep me watching (and that was one heck of a cliffhanger tonight.)

My favorite character by far is Corinna, the one who is out to avenge her parents.

I caught the last half of tonight's episode. I enjoyed it enough to make it a habit.

It's good to see Fillion getting any work.

It's ok so far, but I'm only watching because Fillion and Minear are involved. I hope they have a good explanation for what the heck is really going on and that they explain it soon or else it'll get pretty ridiculous that everywhere you turn it seems like there's someone who's in on it.

While I like Fillion, I think they've built up his character too much. Maybe they'll make it more balanced later on, but I think it'd be more intriguing if your sympathies were more divided in terms of who you'd want to see win this race.

By the way, how is this show supposed to continue long term? (assuming it lasts) They can't race forever (or can they?) Maybe like "Prison Break", the story will continue even after the race is over?

I might have watched it if I had known Fred was in it...but I'm deeply suspicious of a post sweeps Fox series debut. Doesn't seem like there's any chance of it continuing for very long.

Oh yeah -- a little Whedon-verse crossover with Mal being married to Fred. That was pretty cool (but it doesn't top Fred and Wesley both guest starring in an ep of Willow's new show).

I didn't catch that the first time around.

We just finished watching the third episode. Still good. Interesting character developments. And I love Tully's new car.

They finally aired the third episode here. I loved the helicopter bit. And that new car is nice. I could almost watch this just for the driving scenes.

I only saw the last half of the third episode. But I caught a bit of fun on The Soup.

Apparently, at least 4 different times in 3 episodes someone refers to their "secret, illegal, long distance road race."

Not just that but it seems every waitress and cop work for the secret cabal putting on the race. I get the feeling the racers are the only ones who didn't know about it or don't work for the organizers. But that aside it is still a fun ride so far.

Oh and I almost forgot -- it was really cool to see "Mal" being grilled by "Early" -- the cop who's questioning the husband played the bounty hunter on "Firefly"

We'll supposedly get one more episode on Monday and then that's it. They have two more already filmed and "in the can" but probably won't air them until sometime later, if at all. WTF is it with Fox and good shows? 24 is the only drama that is good and still on the air.

They certainly overreact. How do they expect to get anywhere if they don't give their shows a chance to build up some buzz?

I'm surprised this show didn't catch on but I can't say I'm disappointed.

I watched all the episodes and I didn't like a single one of the characters. I may've gotten marginally more invested in the stories of some of them but that was probably only because they used the easy hooks like 'kidnapped wife' or 'dead parents' to evoke a glimmer of sympathy for them. But that was about it.

I know I've already made the 'Lost' and 'Heroes' comparison but if they wanted to establish a successful ensemble series they should've paid a lot more attention to how those shows cast their actors and introduced their characters - and not given us the bland, uninteresting cliches that this show did.

It's a shame because the premise was interesting.

Fox did the same thing with Family Guy. Then Cartoon Network and TBS started re-running Family Guy and it grew a huge audience.

Networks seem more interested in instant success than a well produced show.

Dang, i liked that show. Maybe it will grow, but as much as i hate to say it, Fillion may need to try a different role in TV. His roles have been kinda similar.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!
