It's not just a sound effect anymore.

In case you haven't heard, it's a social networking site that's blowing up all over the place This is just about the best article about site encounters I've found.

Anyway, I think it's kinda cool. I had an exchange with Joe Quesada last night, for instance. (Poor guy. ) And Amber Benson (BUFFY!!) messaged me.

Clearly, my inner-nerd is dying of geek overdose. I'm okay with this. Anyhoo, just wanted to share! That article had me cracking up.

Have you kids all moved on from Facebook already? I think I might have actually opened a Twitter account awhile back when a friend invited me, but never did anything with it...

I was all worried about not having Twitter until I remembered that I still haven't even got a cell phone.

You don't need a cell phone for twitter.

Check out the geekbrief tv podcast #517 for last week. Geek girl Cali Lewis demonstrates tweetdeck for Adobe Air. It lets users keep track of their twitter conversations.

She manages to have conversations with over 4000 people at once. Makes my head spin, all gossip all the time.

I don't know, sounds like tryin' ta keep track of all that would make me Twitterpatted.

I already have twitter. Except I like to call it, "a notepad."

Reminds me of a comedian I saw online recently who scoffed at the thought of spending a grand on an iPod, despite the insistence of youth that iPods are sooooo cool because you never know what song they'll play next.

So, if I understand this correctly, Twitter is like Facebook, except that you can interact with celebrities (or people who might be celebrities)? And these celebrities can have "followers" as well as "friends"?

I am also participating as one of the characters in the Tru Blood roleplay game on Twitter. Yes, they have those There I play Tara's mother, Lettie Mae Thornton. Any Tru Blood fans???

Scott and I both are following a celebrity from our favorite soap opera, General Hospital. It's Sarah Joy Brown who played Carly and now plays Claudia Zacara Corinthos. She is extremely bright, personable and accessable to fan interaction. She has a child with Cilliacs(sp) disease and is a gluten-free advocate. She also volunteer teaches at a special needs grade school around her acting schedule. She seems to never sleep and is always around to 'tweet.'
