Anybody else see it? Y'know, I think this season will finally bring the series back on track after two subpar (for me, at least) seasons. Cordy and Connor are gone (or at least not in every episode) which I think is a big plus, since I'd grown to dislike them both. Also, I like the new additions to the cast (especially Eve, which is already the front runner for my "sexiest woman besides my girlfriend" award). I mean, she is HOT! And the character itself is great! Plus, I love the new status quo, and the possibilities it brings.

I'm overjoyed Connor is gone. I'm glad Cordy's gone (I never bought her and Angel as a couple). I wish Lorn would also take a hike. Eve's ok, but I wish it were Stephanie Romanov (damn, what was her character's name? The dead W&H lawyer).
Harmony looks to be a good source of humor and I'm curious to see where Spike will fit in.
Do I sense a Gunn going to the dark side storyline? We'll see...

Lilah. Yeah, I miss her too. She and Wesley were great together and she was a good foil for everyone.

Did anyone else think that when Eve said "Standard, Great for elocution" in reponse to Gunn's "messload of Gilbert and Sullivan", Miss Lithsp herself was the one who needed it?

I did enjoy Harmony's return.
And I do want to see how they fit Spike in (i.e. why he just doesn't go running after Buffy)

I really enjoyed it, especially Harmony. Whedon seems to reuse actors he likes a lot. I'm not sure I like Eve yet...And what's going on with Angel's hair? I've been watching the reruns on TNT, and he's so cute! Now, he looks kind of pasty and his hair looks silly. I miss Cordy--I thought the writers did a good job of selling that relationship. THANK GOD Connor's gone--easily the most irritating character ever in the history of Angel. Blech. It will be interesting to see the ramifications of Gunn's enhancement...Don't you just KNOW that that lab tech that Fred's making nice with is going to turn out evil?
I do like the new direction with Wolfram and Hart and all, but I hope that this season doesn't end up being quite as dark and dismal as the last season was. Let's advance the story, guys, okay? Last year got a little aimless--by the time we found out about Cordelia being the mastermind, I was so experiencing so much story fatigue that it wasn't the bombshell it could have been.
The only consistent feature of all of your dissatisfying relationships is you.

Regarding last season, I was *totally* into the storyline up until the birth and that Jasmin character showed up. Talk about an anticlimax -- the story seemed to grind to a halt and lose all the momentum that had built up til then, imo. Btw, quite possibly the biggest laugh last season was during evil Cordy and Willow's duel for Angel's soul when Willow gave Cordy a big whammy and she said in the middle of this dramatic confrontation, "I bid my dung!" (I bit my tongue)

Matthew.

A little off topic, but TNT showed the Buffy/Angel crossover where Angel becomes human for a day (if you haven't seen it, I won't say anymore below the following spoiler space)
It's absolutely the greatest episode of the Buffyverse, IMO. It has all the great themes: Buffy's desire to be a "normal" girl, the doomed love story of Buffy and Angel, Angel's quest for redemption, Buffy and Angel trapped in their roles as soldiers for TPTB, Angel's quest for humanity, etc. God, the end part where Angel tells Buffy the deal he made with the Powers, and she keeps saying "It's not enough time"--great acting by Ms. Gellar, BTW, who shows that she can be a good actress (Scooby-Doo notwithstanding)--devastating! I may have to watch it again tonight. Listen fellas, I'm a card-carrying gruff white heterosexual guy who usually chuckles at my wife when she cries at movies, but I'll admit I was on the brink of tears (even though I've seen it at least twice before!). Great television. And funny comments from Cordy. And a really good foreplay in the kitchen scene, which even overcomes the "sweeping off the table" cliche.

[/b]I saw last night's episode too. and the reason is logical. I also liked the nod they gave to all the Angel Spike Slash Fic.
