So what have you loved or loathed for the year? Thought these were the most obvious categories, but feel free to add your own.
Comics: this year i've bought the least in my life! The best would have to be Astonishing X-men, and i get that for a friend.
Comics Event: no best but worst would be a tie between re-rebooting Legion and Identity Crutches.
Movie: best is Shaun of the Dead! followed closely by Hellboy. worst: Catwoman.
Music: Album: the Mountain Goats 'We Shall All Be Healed' Single: Dogs Die In Hot Cars 'Godhoppin' Concert: Moloko.
Sex Object: Roisin Murphy from Moloko (thanks to Drake for pointing out my mistake, but as i've always planned to make her my wife maybe i didn't pay enough attention to last name spelling)
Book: Declare by Tim Powers
TV: Six Feet Under
DVD: Strangers With Candy volume 3 and finally getting all of the One Piece collections
Life: it's kinda been a shitty year, snapping a tendon in my heel, not being able to train for my black belt (hapkido) and gaining 10 kilos being the worst. best involved the friends who kept me relatively sane by exploring microbars with me the best.
Best for the next year: visiting my best friend interstate and getting a computer so's i can interact more here are my hopes (i just got to page 21 on the Post Your Photos thread! maybe next year i'll be able to include one)
So all the best for '05, y'all have as much fun as you can have without bursting a spleen, if you don't have a spare spleen set up!

Best Comics: We3, Astonishing Xmen, Love Fights, Fables, Rucka's Wonder Woman, Planetary, Rex Mundi, Lucifer, Sleeper, She-Hulk Worst Comics: Anything primarily attributable to 80s icons Clarement, Byrne and Chaykin. And add Austen to that list for good measure. Best Comics Event: Identity Crisis [yeah! bring it on, haters! ] Worst Comics Event: Avengers Disassembled Best Movies: There is much left to see, but: I Heart Huckabees, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Kill Bill 2 and House of Flying Daggers Worst Movies: Troy, The Passion of the Christ and The Chronicles of Riddick Best TV: Lost, Desperate Housewives, the Venture Brothers, biblical history documentaries on the learning channels, Foxxy Love on Drawn Together Worst TV: The Swan and all other plastic surgery reality shows Best Music: Albums by Frank Ferdinand; Scissor Sisters; Killers; Spearmint; Thrills; & Brian Wilson's Smile Worst Music: Was not feelin the love for the U2, which makes it the most disappointing album of the year for me Best DVD: Popular, season 1; SwC, season 3 Go away in 2005: Paris Hilton
Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

THE comic of 2004:
SHE-HULK
Shame!! Heaps, mounds and PILES of shame on each and every one of you who didn't buy this wonderful comic book in 2004. See that you rectify your error in 2005.
THE DVD of 2004:
STRANGERS WITH CANDY Season 3
Fans of the delightful sprite named Jerri Blank had a reason to celebrate in 2004, as the third and final season of the insane Comedy Central show Strangers With Candy saw DVD release. Wasn't too long ago I was considering buying illegal burns of the show on eBay. Comedy Central releasing this series on DVD was a great step in the right direction for other low/mid-line or cult shows.
THE Don't-Miss Adult Swim Show of 2004:
SEALAB 2021
Some might consider it the red-headed step-brother of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, but this show delivers the most consistently insane situations and goofball plots, with many more characters than ATHF has to offer. Season 1 available on DVD, Season 2 coming soon!
BREAKOUT New Artist of 2004:
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
They make me want to don torn fishnets, shave my head into a mohawk, move to New York and experiment with injectable drugs.
GOOD-TIME Single of 2004:
WHAT YOU WAITING FOR by Gwen Stefani
Look at your watch now. You're still a super-hot female. And hearing this song makes me feel 17 years old.
THE Cable Channel of 2004:
MTV
I still want it. Can't do without shows like PIMP MY RIDE, BATTLE FOR OZZFEST, ROAD RULES, REAL WORLD, DATE MY MOM, WILD BOYZ, BOILING POINTS, NEWLYWEDS, PUNK'D etc etc etc.

BREAKOUT Comic Character of 2004:
AWESOME ANDY -- She-Hulk
Dan Slott might not have known what a star the Mad Thinker's Awesome Android would become when he placed it in the supporting cast of his excellent She-Hulk series, but reader reaction quickly told the tale of the tape-- Awesome Andy is freaking awesome! Bonus points-- for this character is totally mute. Excellent work, She-Hulk creative staff!
THE 70's-style Scooby-Doo-esque "Being chased by a monster" Pop Song of 2004:
LA LA LA LA LABIA -- Drawn Together
Foxxy-- the witty combination of Scooby Doo and Josie & the Pussycats characters on DRAWN TOGETHER-- definitely has the can't-miss "being chased by a monster" pop ditty of 2004. Instantly infectious, this song worms its way into your wizard sleeve and won't get out! Bring on the monsters, I say, and pump up the jam!

Best relaunch: DC's ``Legion of Super-Heroes'' (in stores this week) re-captures the glory of super-powered teens in the 30th century. Artist Barry Kitson makes it all look easy. Go Barry!
