Overall, tho, I think someone at DC gets that fans expressing their love of the properties is good, as long as no one mistakes Betty's Dick Grayson slash fiction archive as being official. LL, I think you've got a good idea. Considering the base CoH has developed, it'd be much easier and more profitable (in the long run) to liscence Cryptic to make CoH expansion packs and run a few servers set in the Marvel U. Based on the article I think Cryptic's biggest problem is that they had semi-knockoffs in the player's guide. It'd be one thing if they said "Oh, well, we can't spot every Virgina Woolferine (keep her away from a typewriter) and Feenux out there." but an official book actualy suggested it.

[/b]Actually, it didn't. The cartoon was making fun of people who created toons based on comic book characters.

Brainy -- we've got a SG of characters inspired by the CoH mythos... children of Paragon City baddies or similar characters (I've got a woman who was kidnapped and turned into what was meant to be the Clockwork King's bride). Feel like joining us? I don't think anyone's done a Lost or Ruularu themed character. (And I did a list of character ideas on the old thread, if the post didn't get lost.)

My other character is the son of the Lord of Frosts (the leader of WWII Japanese super team the Imperial Wind) from the Axis America universe (where the Axis won WWII). A couple places to look for inspiration: http://www.cityofheroes.com/features/fiction.html http://www.cityofheroes.com/features/villains.html

Hey, guys. Got Blue's 3rd costume today. What do you think? This time I made the interior of the cape the reverse of the exterior.

Thanks, guys.
I wanted one that was more classically heroic than Blue's regular outfit, but somehow still reflected the fact that he used armor. I like the results. 8-)

Hey, guys. It took a long time last night but Prism and I got out of debt-- after dying one more time after you left!-- and Prism picked up flight for Shadow at 14 and I picked swift for Bluette at 16. So where would everyone like to play? I'd still like to spend some time working on Star so I can pick up Mutate for him at 16 and the Positron TF, but since we have new players with low levels I wouldn't mind playing Xs Ive on Virtue either. She's an 8 and she picks up speed boost at 12 so she'd be fun to play. I got some big influence last night from helping out a high level friend by being an enhance dump, so I'm going to get Red Bee some DOs and see if I can make him tough enough to hit 14 and get flight. I just wish he wasn't so gimped ... I wouldn't mind working on Brainwave Jr or Colorific either. So I guess I'm good for the following servers today: Infinity Protector Pinnacle Triumph Virtue Anyone got a preference?

Prism,
I have a question. You've got both superior invisibiity and group invisiblity for Prism Lad. From what I know, you can't use your powers when you use Superior Invis, but you can when you use group. Group has a time limit ... but Superior doesn't?
How much of an endurance hog is SI anyway?

Guess I'm on a roll today ...
Has anyone heard from Doc Nimbus lately?
I don't want to get Andrew leveled out of the TF in case he's needed again, but I also want to get him up to 22 so I can pick up stamina and FINALLY start getting real powers again. 8-)

Finally ... does anyone know where I can get the map patch and how to install it? For some reason, the level 30 tech heroes' contact is placed smack dab in the middle of the 37-39 baddies in Founder's Falls so Blue doesnt want to have to look around for it all the time. 8-)

You can get the mappatch at Heroeshideaway.com or by clicking here When you click on the map patch link on that page it will trigger the download function. Make sure you read the information about it before installing the map patch.

We haven't played on Protector in ages so I would love to do that. Any of them are fine by me though, just post here where you're going to be.

How much of an endurance hog is SI anyway? SI is a toggle you turn on and off and can last as long as your endurance. However, you can't affect anything but yourself. I'd estimate that SI's endurance burn is similar to sprint or a little more. I could probably do 3/4 of a lap around Steel Canyon with both SI and sprint on. GI allows freedom to attack and use powers but has a time limit.

Oh, and I'm probably most into the idea of playing on Protector with Mystery Man or Pyrefly, my fire tank.
And did you catch that the map patch will eventually be obsolete? Yea! Hopefully they'll do this in Update 3.

Protector is fine by me, guys.
When do you want to play? I just found a couple of websites with badges and plaque locations so I'm going to get those for a while if I can figure out the ingame GPS system. 8-)

Okay, guys.
The TF is done for today. If anyone wants to hop onto Protector, I'm ready.
Did learn a few things that will come in handy for Legion of Infinity though.
First, I'd say that 4 is the magic number for that TF. We only had to deal with one Eid in the sewer mish ... and that was the boss.
The 2nd is that I don't know what they expect controllers to do in that mish ... it's no fair that the Vahz zombies are so hard to hold ... that takes the main job of a controller like Star away ... that's like sending Beauty against a horde of baddies who are totally immune to her fire blasts and expecting her to brawl her way through it...
Anyway, I'll check on Protector to see if anybody is playing unless someone posts they are on other servers.
