Y'know when you're at the mansion and your objectives tell you to go to the Danger Room: GO TO THE DANGER ROOM! (ditto with finding specific people to speak to). Once you complete three specific missions in the DR with Magma, including a replay of the first level with her in place of Wolverine, you get to use her freely.

Thanks, Reboot. I'll have to go back and reuse her.

got to the level in XML#1 where you go to the Astral plane to rescue Xavier,..already beat Dark Blob and is in the middle of fighting Dark Pyro.
i've made it apoint to use everyone in the game,(i just reciently aquirred Psylocke) so that all of them right now are at level 25.
and ferroboy when you get enough money go to Forge and buy the hammer of Nimrod. and give it to either Wolverine or Colossus or even Rogue it will come in hand when fighting the sentinels in the New York riot level.

Got XML2 the other day and have been playing through it.

Got to say, so far, it doesn't seem as good as the original smirk

I use Rogue plenty in XML2. Her power absorbing ability is actually useful in some cases. One great team is Rogue, Juggernaut, Colossus, and Wolverine. They're the Brawlers - it's an actual titled formation.[/b]
I don't like using bricks (/tanks/brawlers) much. They boorrring. In XML2, I've been defaulting to Cyke/Jean/Wolverine again and been playing about with the fourth spot.

Try setting characters up in different formations *and* different costumes. There's an AoA costume set that gives the team 100% attack bonus. It doesn't matter which characters so long as they appeared in AoA.

I tend not to use brawlers myself, except that I've been having a lot of fun with Colossus and Rogue. In XML1 I played Wolverine most of the time but this time I just have him on the team and play someone else. I do like to have a bridge-builder (Iceman, Jean Grey, Magneto) but it's not absolutely necessary with a flyer since other characters get pulled along at times.

There's a couple of different bonuses depending on the characters you use some of the main ones other then the AOA is the Femme Fatale, The Brotherhood of Evil, Forces of Nature, Double Date, and there are a ton more you can find the full list over at places like gamefaqs.com and cheatcc.com

Funnily enough, I just hit Act III and got the AoA costumes and found that bonus out.

Are the Jim Lee costumes in there at all? Until I switched for the AoA bonus (and Iceman & Cyke *do* look better. Jean & Wolverine I'm less sure of), I'd been running with Reload Cyke, Green Phoenix Jean, Default Iceman and Brown/Tan Wolverine.

While my team's settled down to be fairly constant now (except for the Iron Man armour bonus stages, where I bring Juggernaut and Sunfire in in place of Cyke & Jean), I don't play favourites that much within them. Jean I probably play most, mostly since she's my flier, but not that much more in actual combat.

So does this count as cheating: I found a room in the sewers with infinite bad guys (there are two teleport pads which each spew out a new bad guy as soon as the previous one gets killed, and they never run out). Currently, Jean, Iceman and Wolverine are beating the crap out of them for the XP points while Cyke stands on and watches (nominally human-controlled, in reality I've just put the joypad down and left them to it). smile

And, after nearly 80 hours of play according to the save-game chronometer, I beat XML2 on normal difficulty (I skipped "Easy"), collecting Iron Man on the way.

And now...

"I don't have enough power so stop bugging me"
"Welcome to Loservlle, population - YOU!"
"Cleanup on Aisle 3!"
"But did either of us truly win?"

Yes, it's D-D-Deadpool folks! laugh

More replay value to this than XML1 too - since everything's less rigidly structured, you can go back to earlier levels - which have "forgotten" you were there in everything except bosses. Lots of minions to gut smile

I borrowed X1 from a friend and I've been using a wide variety of characters...
I always take Wolvie as my point man and use up all his energy in claw attacks with team combos; not much can withstand too much of that, and his healing factor makes him a perfect brawler.
Then I always have Storm or Cyclops to get the Leadership bonus for combos.
I usually run Rogue (with full might) as a backup brawler who can lift and throw anything, and she flies too; perfect if I've taken Cyclops, who I've preferred until recently over Storm. Now that her powers are getting better it's maybe 40% Storm 60% Cyclops.
My last slot I tend to fill with Iceman if I think I'll need bridges, or Jubilee just because she seems effective for some reason. And I like her sassy pose in the character choice screen. wink Jean Grey is okay but I use her rarely for some reason...
Beast and Nightcrawler are my least used characters at the moment, although when Nighty's leap of faith gets better I'll use him more.

Of course, I'm only up to the Morlock tunnels, so I have a lot of way to go yet, I think, and choices will change along the way I am sure. Especially with more options.
