From the pics they're showing, I'm wondering if Uncle Saddam didn't secretly give up, and the whole "capture" is just an honorable way for him to surrender. It doesn't look like he enjoyed any of his previous privileges while in hiding...

So, apparently he was captured by a team codenamed "Wolverine 1" in "Operation: Red Dawn" ... am I the only one imagining his shack being stormed by Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen and Jennifer Grey with C. Thomas Howell yelling "Wolverines!!"

Kid, its likely it will get worse before it gets better. Martyrs, loyalists, etc... will try to force them to give him up. When that fails, they will try to establish a new regime.
Plus, we have a country to rebuild, just like Japan and Germany.

Sanity, right now i am not surprised by your response, but, if that were the case, wouldn't they try to hold off on the news until later in the election year to "reap the benefits"?
Sometimes, not allways, but sometimes, even our government gets it right. I am sure the conspiracy theorists will go into overdrive, but... I see this as the next step in getting our men and women home to their families. More steps to go, but a first.
And i may be a cynic about ...well, just about everything...but sometimes its tougher to have a little faith. If not in the leaders of the operation, then in the men and women over there that left their familes and friends for duty.
