Thank you, I think it is very important that I be okay with these things. And I am glad you are a happy camper. Sadly for reals, I'm getting a bit of Idol boredom or burnout setting in. I hate that, but there it is. I'm convinced Scotty McCreery is going to win. No female or anyone other than a cute white guy will ever win Idol again until they start limiting the amount of votes one can make.

loved that casey was saved and his reaction to the whole thing...and someone really needs to get Jacob to do Slyvester's "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" and just let him diva it out (without screeching)

Yeah, I don't get the voting idea, really never have. I mean, I want people to be able to vote but it seems skrewy sometimes. (Like when you said, 'She's got to GO!' and she DID! lol That's why I try not to care about the actual winner but more about the best of the kids getting a chance at the tour. Which has more or less, happened. You know, Adam didn't need to win the finale. He was clearly the star from the moment he auditioned. Anyway, I'm sorry you're bored. Although, a show might seem boring to you anyway, since you and your life are so 'gung-ho' and filled with friends and stuff.

My least to most favorite...
Paul - I'm back to not getting it with him Thia - sleepy and not even close to emotional
Naima - tacky cruise ship interpretation of not one of Elton's best anyway
Scotty - he did fine, I'm just not a big fan, and by the end of the show, I'd forgotten about him
Stefano - he seems so stiff and uncomfortable, but he still sings well
Jacob - too restrained, yet still over the top. How'd he do that? I suppose I was disappointed because I really want to like his performances.
Pia - no surprise - a well done ballad
Haley - she did a great job, still comes across as a bit desperate, not confident
Casey - a very good, solid job
James - very entertaining as usual
Lauren - perfect vocal for the song and well delivered

The whole Casey thing last week just seemed SO staged/contrived. I just don't trust the producers of the show. I was glad he was saved, though.
I'm not bored because I look forward to what Jacob, James and Casey will do each week. Lauren surprised me tonight!
I hope it keeps coming.

Whew-- you're safe!
*choke* Sorry, Dean, but I totes j'adored Naima's fearlessness and will miss it. I still say she was the most original, ridonkulous AI finalist ever. *weary sigh*
Thia, I shan't miss you and your sleepy baladeering much, I'm afraid.
I enjoyed Scotty for the first time since making fun of his constant early usage of "babylockthemdoorsandturnthelightsdownlow"... I love the song "I Told You So" (although in general, I hold Randy Travis and his closeted, jealous-queen self in contempt) and thought he and Lauren sounded great together on it!

I wonder if Steven Tyler meant it when he said that the 4 guys could open for Aerosmith on their next tour?
I'm sorry, but I thought that last 'Rio' song, especially the two singers, was just terrible. The beat was okay but talk about 'pitchie' singing! gads

I would totally buy one or two Naima Reggae songs a year on itunes (and if ther were Reggae versions of non-Reggae songs, probably more).
This is a pretty talented bunch! Most of them are really very good (some I don't like that much like Stefano and the high-pitched gospel kid from CA).
I've never been a huge fan of American Idol but this season seems much better to me for some reason. The judges attitudes, the talent, etc. It almost feels more focused on the singing and the 'fun' aspect than the spectacule of it all, which is a good thing.
My favorites, Pia and Paul, remains awesome!

'Rio' is a pixar story; I saw a trailer this evening while watching Generator Rex. So, I'm okay with the song, now.
Wednesday night was the first time that I had major trouble voting, so I only voted a couple of times for Casey and Haley.
The voting went pretty much like I would have liked anyway, except I would have put Stefano in Paul's place.
The kids seem more relaxed now, even the two who lost this week, since all 11 get to go on the tour this summer. I'm glad because I like them all.
I think that the whole top 13 should go, though.

I still like them all, pretty much.
Casey still delights me most, and I love CCR. James did an absolutely lovely version of George's song, too. Better than George, I thought.
My top 6 remain the same.

Same here .... Pia looks and sounds like an idol in my opinion. I was sure she'd make it into the top two. Oh well, that's showbiz! My prediction: Lauren will be the next American Idol and will go on to surpass even Kelly Clarkson! YOU GO GIRL!!!! (I can't pull that off, can I? Too white? Too male???)

I think that both of the Latinas and Stephano will have long and very fruitful singing careers.
Pia is beautiful but I don't think that she has any depth of training, yet. She definitely needs movement and songs that are more than ballads. Stephano, as well. I think that they'll both get lots more experience and connections during the tour, too. J-Lo loves them, as do the other judges and producers, so they've gotten what they need to start in the business, for sure.
ALL of these kids are great, so I think that even if they don't win the Idol title, they'll be fine.
I'm just trying to vote for one or two. I voted for all of my favorites in the beginning, but every one of them is 'my favorite' at this stage. Mostly.

I don't get the love the judges fealt for Paul. He was terrible in my opinion ... totally sang off key the whole time. ???Stephano??? sounded like he was still rehersing. Haley really did sound karaoke-ish. I was very disappointed in her. There's your bottom 3 for tomorrow night folks!

Scotty - I couldn't be less interested in a singer/song/performance
Lauren - dull song, dull performance. She has pretty eyes
Casey - I like a touch of crazy, but the performance just didn't have the impact on which the crazy could hang. Kissing JLo was the best part
Stefano - it was a fairly polished performance, including a good vocal, but I never sensed a "moment"
James - I love Muse and was probably too harsh a judge, but I didn't like the way he messed with the song
Jacob - yes, the emotion and power was there, but somehow it felt too forced, I still liked it better than most
Haley - solid performance and she did put in some distinction

I'm afraid I've grown bored with this as well as Survivor. I haven't even bothered to watch last night's performances.
Scotty's win is already in the bag, I think. Just don't really care anymore.
Looking forward to THE VOICE on NBC, though.

Ohhhh. I was recording it but I got home just as Casey performed, which I watched. He's the only one I've watched so far this week. His silliness makes me laugh and dance, so I <3 him best.

Stefano(?) went home last night. Can't say I was surprised though .... but his future is practically ensured so long as there are teeny-boppers to buy his imminent records.

He'll have the Latino market, too, as will Pia and probably Karen. Scotty and Lauren can/will do Country. Jacob is a shoe in for Gospel. I see Paul, Naima and Haley doing the stage and possibly movies.
Who's left? I'm hoping the judges and producers will help James out, if he doesn't win, especially Steven. If he'll listen to them.
Thia, as well as some of the others, could do Disney and other animated stuff or TOON kiddie shows.
Casey will always do jazz, records and clubs. I'd love to see him doing other things as well. He's fun and is prefect for shows.
You guys probably know all of this stuff already, but you're who I talk to, so you're stuck reading it, unless you just skip over. sigh <3 ya!

James was the only one I liked last night. Well, I liked Haley too. It's not that anyone was bad, but you could also tell by the audience reactions that there were not many of the coveted "moments" going on.
