Okay, I watched the preview of the pilot last night. It's a funny show, sort of Buffy TVS with a lighter tone.
A young man has been assigned the job of recapturing escaped Hellions by the Devil himself. Laughter ensues and stuff blows up.
Check it out tonight if you can.
Just spouting off.

I'm planning on watching it.
I watched Chuck last night. That wasn't too bad, either.

I really enjoyed this! The premise was better than I expected, and the characters were likeable and funny. The way his friend kept throwing things at his head, trying to get his telekinesis to work I liked it much better than Chuck. Fighting the fire guy with a Dirt Devil... funny!

We watched it initially because of Bret Harrison. He was great in Grounded for Life and The Loop. This show is definitely a keeper though. Almost Buff-esque like CJ said. I hope the CW keeps it around at least for a full season.

Quis, I can appreciate that. The first season of Buffy (not to drag that comparison on too long) didn't wow me either.
Given time to grow as a show, it will be a blast.

I missed it, but wanted to see it! CW often re-airs stuff... won't someone please give me a heads-up if this happens for REAPER?

I think I too may be a fan. It was pretty funny and had some unexpected turns. Ditto on Brett Harrison. The Loop was canceled right after I discovered it. Which is too bad since it was the funniest thing since Arrested Development (which was canceled too Fox execs. obviously have their heads up their asses or the American viewing public doesn't have very sophisticated sense of humor...or both.
Is that a moon?

I was prepared to hate this, mostly on the grounds that Kevin Smith's white guy/slacker schitck has to be getting old by now (like him!). Then there's the whole theological conundrum--the lead character Sam will benefit from being the Devil's minion, but how can the Devil do good?
But damned if I didn't enjoy it. Let's face it, a satirical comedy set in a Home Despot-like store would be hard to mess up, right? Ray Wise is just a wonderful Devil. Just enough of the Rat Pack in his portrayal to be charming and a little nostalgic without being gratuitous and smarmy. The lead actor is quite good but the creative team is walking a thin line with the whining thing. Also, the friend ending up in the hospital...I watched the Smallville season premiere last night (I haven't watched the show regularly in years), and by damn I'm sick of seeing the characters at death's door at Smallville Hospital AGAIN! Rural health care just ISN'T that good, people! So, note to "Reaper": too many hospital scenes and I bail. But I digress. It was very funny. The Dirt Devil, the Ghost Busters-esque "suit up" at the store, the waiting for the Dirt Devil to re-charge, the "Hell on Earth" at the DMV, all perfect.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

Still loving Reaper, favorite new show of the year so far.
But does anyone remember the short-lived Peter Horton series "Brimstone"? A few years back, maybe close to ten, this series was about a dead cop sentenced to Hell who had to recover so many escaped souls. John Glover, Pappa Luthor of Smallville, played the devil. He was just as good as Ray Wise is here.

Something else else else. Did anyone catch tonight's episode? Was that Robert Foxworth of Falcon Crest?

Sorry Oracle Boy, my databanks don't reach that far back.

Then its a pretty good thing it wasn't Foxworth's (and that is who it was on Reaper) cast mate from Falcon Crest, David Selby. Because I probably would have referred to him as being Quentin on Dark Shadows instead. Would that one register?

Not unless you're referring to the more recent Dark Shadows- and I think I'm the only one that watched that crap.

I kinda liked that Dark Shadows remake. Even if it did only last a couple of months.

You speaking of the Ben Cross series turned mini-series or did either of you happen to see the WB pilot from a couple of years ago?
Then again, Johnny Depp is supposed to be making a new movie version starring as Barnabas. No way I'll be able to keep Caroline away from that one.

I finally saw the pilot (thanks to Ceej!) and the third ep with the "bug lady"!
LOVING this! It's now logged into my "must-tape" book so I won't miss it again!
Sam is totally cute, Sock is a scream. They need to let Josie in on this to have easier access to her information.
Favorite minor character: the DMV lady who sent the dirt devil to Hell... "You must be a moron!" BWAhaha!
SO getting this on DVD too.

Just finished watching last night's Halloween episode. Reaper is the best new show of the season. We've all but dropped everything else new this year.

Yeah, Reaper and Midnight are the only new shows that I'm still watching. Sometimes the effects are the tiniest bit cheesy, but it's such a fun show I don't mind. And the guy that plays Sam is such a cutie pie
