I thought she already appeared and she's been given extra consideration into bringing her into the show.
And to show I bear no ill will, I, too, shall bestow a gift...

A bump for RTVU...
It looks like I was imagining that link to Geoff's confirmation.

Well it was ages ago that I heard all this but I'm quite sure that I read there that George Perez was asked to name one character whom he wanted to appear on the show, and he chose Bumblebee. This doesn't guarantee she'd become a permanent member though so maybe I was jumping to conclusions about that.
However, I'm also pretty sure that Geoff made an announcement about some of the things that Titans readers could look forward to in either Year 2 or 2005 and one of them was that the cast would be expanded to include Bumblebee.
I hope I'm right about all this. The only reason I'm still buying that very average comic is for Karen's return. I'll be pissed if I've been wasting my money for nothing. If someone wants confirmation just ask TeenTitan2002 (or whatever his name is) on the Geoff Johns boards - he seems to be the 'Go-To' guy for Teen Titans questions.

I'm of 2 minds about the whole Barbara Gordon Batgirl/Oracle situation. On the one hand I see what a great message it sends to have a strong, powerful character who's able to fight crime just as effectively as anyone else even though she's in a wheelchair. But when the only interesting thing about a character is her wheelchair you know there's a problem. The boring computer-geek personality we've got now does nothing for me. Meanwhile the original Batgirl was one of the most exciting, fun and visually beautiful heroines DC had. I loved her spirit, vitality and the light she brought to the dark world of Batman - all the things the Joker took away. So therein lies the problem - what's more important? The character? Or the message? Personally, and as much as I hate to admit it, I think the message is. Barbara should stay in the wheelchair as a testament to the fact that bad things happen... but people can rise above them. Sadly IMO, the original Batgirl, like Barry Allen, is gone forever. P.S. Just checked Geoff Johns board and there was a post about Bumblebee. She *is* coming back to the Titans in year 2 and Mal might be coming with her. Here's hoping!

(Wait, didn't she have this choice recently, but instead put a gravely injured Black Canary in instead? But presumably Babs could find another Pit somewhere...)

Isn't Bumblebee supposed to be joining the Teen Titans soon?
I love the idea, but I always thought of her as being quite a bit older -- like in her late 20s or early 30s.

Karen and Mal would be about the same ages as Wally, Donna, Dick, Gar and Roy, most likely.
But with DC's creative age-revisioning lately, it's likely they'll be presented as much younger.
I don't mind, I'm just thrilled to hear they'll be back!

BTW, is Karen DC's first female African American superhero? She must be at least one of the first few.

I always saw Batgirl as just a second string female bat-person. She and Supergirl as just being the female versions of the male hero. For me, Oracle is where Babs shines. And part of that shine is the fact that she is a parapelgic. Oh and go Bumblebee!

So, Bumblebee and Vixen don't appear to be becoming regulars on the BoP cast.
I was, however, pretty thrilled at the castmember who joined the cast, apparently for the long haul, in BoP # 75.

YYYYYYYYYES! GREAT addition, especially with the new status quo Gail's setting for the team's HQ. Color me thrilled. And Ed Barreto's art on her backstory was phenomenal, too. He's come a loooong way from when he replaced Perez on the Titans Baxter series those many moons ago.

I read BoP # 80!
OH NO!!!!
We've LOST a castmember!!
I certainly hope it isn't for long!
Mysterious developments with Oracle continue, Dinah rawks as always, and Lady Backhawk is fantastic!
MAN, will I ever miss Ed Benes though. But juding from recent HAWKMAN issues, I'll be liking Joe Bennett's run a lot. He draws hella-hotties like Benes does!

Yeah. That was a kick in the gut! It happened so quick, just as the issue ended. There was no time to absorb or react... I just sat there stunned for a bit. So much for a "costume change", unless what Gail was referring to was SP ** OI ** LE ** RS ** PA ** CE ...Helena leaving her mask behind...

I can't believe how much Gail has made me like the Huntress. She (the post-Crisis one anyway) used to be one of my least favourite DC characters but now I can't get enough of her. I think a lot of that has to do with her Jim Lee costume though, which I simply LOVE ! That said though - I want someone else to take her place with the BoP for a while, preferably Vixen! That short story arc with her just wasn't enough and now I want more Mari! More, more, MORE! I'll take just about anyone over Wildcat though, who I think is guest starring for the next few issues. Really don't like that character anymore. They've just turned him into Green Arrow mark II and one Oliver Queen is quite enough for me thanks.

I'd prefer to keep the cast female, but I consider myself a Wildcat fan so I'm cool with it.
Would LOVE to see Vixen join up!

Vixen is a good idea as well. And yes I don't care for the sexy Huntress costume. I like the bad ass costume myself.
