...continues to astonish for me. Now that Whedon and Cassaday are off, Ellis and company at the reigns still do the book proud.
With Kitty and Pietr's departure, I don't know if I wanted to continue, but when I saw Storm return in all her majesterial glory, I was sold. Her repartee with Emma was just as amusing as Kitty's verbal sparring with Emma.
The ending was somewhat anti-climactic, but on the whole, I liked it and I'm board, this being the only X book I buy.

I just interrupted reading the book to do some Internet surfing... guess that's not such a good sign for the book I am having trouble with Bianchis art. Though I always loved Maleevs stuff on Daredevil, this kind of dark art on a book like X-Men just doesn't seem to fit. It is good art, don't get me wrong. But somehow, I just don't dig it. Going to return to my comic now and give it a decent chance. But I don't think this will be the one to bring me back to the X-Men franchise...

Hope you don't mind the title edit, OL-- There's already a thread for the Whedon/Cassaday run on ASTONISHING, and I just wanted to preempt any thread merging... Ellis and Bianchi are their own nut, same title notwithstanding. That said, I don't know if I'm going to continue with this book. Still upset at the outcome to Whedon's run. I know someone eventually will want to use Kitty and will find a way to bring her back; Heck, Whedon himself did it with Colossus. I'm just feeling petulant 'cause they wrote off my favorite X-gal. I'm giving Ellis two issues to grab me. And the previews I've seen so far of Bianchi's artwork? Blech. I really don't like the interior colors, looks like they're washing out the inks. And I'm a BIIIIG fan of his work, since 7S: Shining Knight. Huge disappointment here, from what I've seen.

Not at all, Pov. Makes sense. Sometimes I wish Whedon & Cassaday stopped their run with the original 12 issues they were slated to do instead of continuing for another year. I'm willing to give this new team a chance. Storm and Emma are awesome. Does anyone know what's the status with Jean Grey?

Oha, wait a minute Mister Postman: Does this mean that Kitty is dead right now? I did not know that cause I dropped Astonishing during the über-ridiculous Danger Room storyline (what a load of crap that was!) ... No eulogies in Wizard so far - how could this get by me? I mean, Kitty is a major character... Anyway after concluding my reading of AXM #25, I decided not to further buy this book. Just not my cup of tea.

No body. No doubt she was teleported out of the bullet she was stuck in before she starved/dehydrated/asphyxiated to death.

Thanks Reboot. Well certainly we will see her again under these circumstances. That is, if we actually should read another X-Men book... I got a good collection from Uncanny Masterworks #1 til Magneto War, sold everything after that (and probably should sell even more, maybe beginning with Onslaught...).
Every now and then I give the Mutants a chance but... they keep on disappointing me...

I'm hesitantly picking this up. No Colossus is another mistake; Bianchi's art is far from my favorite and Ellis usually leaves me high and dry. What's keeping me right now is lately Ellis has been surprising me on Thunderbolts (in a good way) and Storm coming back to the team could be good.
