Okay, I admit, I liked the re-introduction of Infinity Inc. in the pages of 52. They ended up getting the shaft for the most part, but what do you expect from a team created by Luthor.

I skeptically picked up Issue # 1 of the ongoing and was blown away. This is not what I expected for the team. I really liked it and had to read it at least 4 or 5 more times. Sorta like the current X-Factor but with an even darker feel.

Anyone else read this? What do you think?

I've got it coming in my next subs shipment; It was 75% off in my July preorders. I liked Steel and Natasha's roles in 52, but still haven't decided on continuing with this series. If I like #1, I can always "trade" the rest. Glad you liked it, though-- gives me hope. smile

I stood in the CBS for a while debating whether to pick up the first issue. I finally went for it, and I'm glad I did. It will take a few more issues before I am completely sold, but it has my interest.

I liked it, mainly as I'm a big JHI fan, but... there was something off with this one. Maybe I'm not too interested in the other characters other than John and Nat? Nat seems a lot less interesting now that Christopher Priest isn't doing her dialogue. wink

But I'll be sticking around to see where this heads and support my boy John. smile Unfortunately I got that "Surely this can't last a year" feel from the first issue...

I'm still upset that they killed of the new Skyman so soon in 52... frown

I missed # 1, and wasn't thrilled about an INFINITY INC that was so far divorced from the original concept, so I just said "forget it".

Well, when I was at the CBS last time, along with # 2 they had re-orders for # 1. It was a light week, and I totally loved the marvy-weird Milligan/Allred run on X-FORCE and X-STATIX, so I got 'em.

They were GREAT... especially considering that for a superhero team book, no superheroics actually take place in either issue.

I'm adding it to my pull.

And if the current artist should leave (he's good, I'm just sayin'), put Allred on this book!!

I've added it to my pull. I haven't had a chance to sit down and read issue #2 yet, but #1 was pretty good--not fantastic, but good.

I would like some connection with the real Infinity, Inc. beyond the names. Obsidian's little run-in with them in 52 wasn't quite enough. It might require a crossover with the JSA, but the five surviving Infinitors (Todd Rice, Hank King, Rick Tyler, Norda Cantrell and Albert Rothstein) should all appear at some point.

I didn't like it at all. I read the first two issues and I just can't get into it.

I'm on the fence still. I like what's happening with Nuklon and the gender-changing character. And I think I like Natasha's power, now. But it's hard to tell... I can't even remember their names, really.

I think Kid Empty is one of the suckiest villains ever. In a couple of ways.

That's probably the biggest mistake in the early storyline.

That and completely ignoring previous Infinitors. Obsidian or Brainwave or somebody should show up, just because... though that just ain't Milligan's style.

4 issues in and I'm stll onboard, though not as excited as I was after # 2.

I think we need a roll call or some fact sheet pages... it's not like, aside from Natasha, these characters got any kind of huge development in '52'.

Milligan's "weird" writing really needs cleaner artwork to help tell the story, though the current artist is different-good. I'd still pull for Allred here.

Definitely want to see where the whole Nuklon/Eureka (IS that the guy-girl's codename? I'm just not clear on it) thing is going.

Milligan may be moving too slowly on this intro arc. Maybe time to up the pace a notch.

I got the first two issues, then dropped it. Maybe if there was some sort of JSA tie-in it might've caught me, but as it stands, no.

Read # 5 last night.

Aside from Natasha, Steel, the guy-girl (IS it 'Eureka') and Nuklon, I don't have a clue what is going on.

Where did the tumor guy/shapeshifter (Persona) come from? Who is the speeedster girl? Who is the girl cutting herself that joins at the end?

I was exited by issues 1 and 2, but this has quickly stalled for me and is rolling backwards.

There's a new artist coming onboard... I'll stick around a bit longer and see if things improve overall, because I DO sense potential.

Milligan is guilty of not giving enough info at this point... that combined with dark artwork is a hindrance, for me anyway.
Meanwhile, I'll re-read II 1-5 to make sure I haven't just been missing anything during the lapses between issues 3 and 5 ('cause when I read 1 and 2 back to back, thing were all good).

Normally, I like the idea of back-ups. Especially if they star 'minor' characters or events off to the side or something.

But here, the back-up has just muddled things.

And things are muddled enough in this title.

Pete Woods on art is enough to give me some hope, though.

Funny thing about the cast. It at once seems too large and too small, to me. Weird.

It's being cancelled. Ah-well-- I'll miss a couple of the off-the-wall characters. Maybe they'll turn up in TEEN TITANS or somewhere.

Still think that a member or two from the original cast should've made their way into the book.

There is a Crisis commencing...if they turn up in the Teen Titans they're likely to be fodder. shake

I'm not surprized. I did like it, but as mentioned in the other posts here, the story seemed very muddled. The pacing seemed a little too slow, both for action and character development.

Next-to-last issue's out this week. If the rest of the series had had the momentum of this one, it might not be on the brink of cancellation.

I'll miss the gender-bending stutterer, and wild 'n' wacky Gerome. I'm afraid that the Dark Side banner means less than hopeful final scenes for these characters as they exit the monthly stage.

I keep forgetting that Natasha now has Gas Girl-like powers. I wish they'd been explored some more, as this could be a great set of powers to examine.
