Hi all,

I took a chance and subscribed to Superman and Action comics. Superman for the Lee run and Action just because I think that Ivan Reis's work is just stupendous. I discovered his work on Marvel Comics "Captain Marvel" and his work just blew me away. Now he's an exclusive at DC and boy oh boy, I think he's easily the next Neal Adams, just beautiful work.

Teamed up with Chuck Austen (X-Men scribe) breaths new life into the this powerful character. New life, as in a bit of a comedic edge to it. I don't care how bad life gets, there is ALWAYS something funny about it all and Chuck hit the nail on the head here. Ivan and Marc did the script justice with keeping things gorgeously rendered but the facial expressions are just perfect.

Please take a chance, it's a fun ride so far and I hope that it goes on for as long as it can go!!

Also, looking forward to the Another Nail by Alan Davis and Mark Farmer, they are also known for keeping things really well written with a sense of humor in the mix as well as just spell binding art. Oh yea, bring it on DC, your the best!! But then again there is the Astonishing X-Men #1 that was just gorgeous to behold too!!

Astonishing was indeed gorgeous. I know that some critics have complained about the fact that Davis's art "always looks the same," but I don't mind the consistency, since the quality is usually so high.

I haven't really read any of the Superman titles with any regularity -- I usually just pick up an issue here or there if I like the artwork or if it features a character I follow.

I'm not familiar with Ivan Reis's work -- should check it out...
