These are the words that Chuck Dixon left on his website forum but without reason.
Upon investigating this matter of why this Chuck Dixon would just get up and leave without reason may be a turning point in DC Comics to have Dixon start making the comics more adult mainstream including the use of more gay and lesbian superheroes.
Chuck Dixon was quoted saying, "I also still strongly feel, that I should have every expectation that mainstream superhero comics should be free of explicit material featuring gay people. Not any material. Not the exclusion of gay characters. Let’s just stay away from the agenda-driven “shock” material. It can be done. I’m currently doing it in Batman and the Outsiders". This comes from a post he made on the ComicBookResources.com website.
More information as this story becomes available but at this time, Chuck Dixon is still not revealing the reasoning behind his recent departure.

Man, I was really digging Dixon's comics. He made Outsiders readable for the first time in years and gave us the best series of Robin issues, since, well, he left the series in the first place! Plus he restored Steph!
Now those 2 comics have 85.6% chance of returning to sucking completely again, like a lot of DC's other crappy comics!

I met Chuck Dixon once at a convention in NYC. Nice guy.
While we were chatting, we were interrupted when this unmittigated A**H*** barged in and started talking with him as if I wasn't even standing there. Naturally, I didn't care for that behavior. the fact that the guy who interrupted was someone Dixon knew was besides the point. the fact that the guy who interrupted us was somebody I'd met several times before only increased my annoyance, for over a number of years, EACH time I'd met the guy, his personality had progressively gotten worse.
Oh, yeah- it was Kevin ("Green Lantern's #1 fan!") Dooley. Is there something that happens when guys become editors at DC that they just turn into creatures from the pit or something?
