Yes, I understand it's not quite a LEGION poll, but it's the same company and i thought it'd be fun to throw our 2-cents in as the League clearly re-organizes.
The first set of questions is about the series of stories leading up to this re-organization, the last are simply about what the new League should look like (as far as you're concerned).
(And, yes, it looks as if I've returned to Polling for a bit SO GO ON AND VOTE ALREADY!)

Oh yeah, I made up categories for the type of League members just to get some sense of dynamics (and to differentiate somehow from a laundry list)- Urban Vigilantes, Maids of Might, Warrior Women, Ubermen, Otherworldly Adventurers, Super Science, Wildcards, and Hot Shot Rookies. Feel free to add any other choices or explanations below!

About Jean Loring: Let me get this straight... part of her master plan to win back the love of the Atom was to FORCE him to sign the divorce papers in issue #1?!! Mmm-hmm, great writing.
Also, I may have said it before here, so sorry if I'm repeating myself, but I hate the idea of breaking up the Trinity. Hate it. It took them so long to get close to the level of trust and friendship they had back on Earth-1 before Crisis on Infinite Earths, and now they are going to scrap it? I don't feel like reading that at all.

It doesnt seem fair to limit the choices to 12 - i ran out of options before i reached the bottom.

LOL! Me too.
It is interesting to see that things are fairly balanced in the poles. There are some obvious favorites but some surprising choices.
I'd love to personally see a mix of all the era's in the new makeup. What I'd really like to see is Booster getting his act together and starting the league over...after getting Ted's fortune back.
But I'm biased. <G>

Wow, I'm amazed by how well the original five Titans are doing in that pole... I mean, I have a real soft spot for the Titans but... yeah. Wow.
Incidently, did I miss Roy or was he not on the list??

No worries. ^_^ I'm just amused overall. The Titans were the JLA's protoges... seems like people are ready for them to step up, y'know?

Great poll Andy. It feels nice to be excited about the JLA again!
Here're my 12 by the way -
1. Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 2. Black Canary 3. Hawkman 4. Red Tornado 5. Elongated Man 6. Zatanna 7. Green Lantern (John Stewart) 8. Mera 9. Black Lightning 10. Vixen 11. Mary Marvel 12. Dr Light
I think that'd make a really interesting League. The only thing it might be lacking is the rookie-type character. Bump the membership up to 13 and I'd add Amazing Man or Booster Gold.

My 12, BTW, in the DCU continuity as it now stands anyway, would mosty look like the original Titans all grown up into the roles they were meant for.
1. Power Girl (stands in for Superman) 2. Nightwing (Batman) 3. Troia (Wonder Woman) 4. Arsenal (Green Arrow) 5. Flash/Wally (Flash/Barry) 6. Tempest (Aquaman) 7. Starfire (Martain Manhunter, i.e. alien) 8. Hawkgirl (Hawkman) 9. Green Lantern/Kyle (GL/Hal) 10. Cyborg (Red Tornado, i.e. robot) 11. Elastic Man/Jimmy (Elongated Man) 12. Huntress (Black Canary)

Great poll, Andy! As usual You always have such interesting ideas. I think Blacula and PB came up with some interesting lineups, too. I voted for a League closer to the Magnificent 7, because they work so well together. But I certainly don't want it to be limited to just that. My 12: 1. Superman 2. Batman 3. Wonder Woman 4. Martian Manhunter 5. Flash (Wally West) 6. Green Lantern (John Stewart) 7. Doctor Light 8. Zatanna 9. Faith 10. Fire 11. Black Canary 12. Elongated Man Mostly a traditional League packed with some favorites who I think would shake it up a bit. My concern was that fire would seem superfluous alongside some of the more powerful Leaguers, but since when has that ever really been a problem? I wanted Ralph in cause I love his personality, though he narrowly beat out Metamorpho and Firestorm. I was going to pick Maya, but I think the team dynamics might become a bit too odd with her around I wanted Oracle in too, but then I decided she'd sort of a de facto member most of the time, anyway; even though she's not IN the team, the League'll still call on her for help.

I very nearly picked Maya too IB!
There's a lot of potential in her character I think, but she would look very out of place in the more 'Big Gun' lineup of today's JLA.
Maybe she can find a spot on another team like... hmmm, I don't know - JSA and Teen Titans are both definite "No's" and I hate the current Outsiders so wouldn't want to see her suffer under Winnick's writing there... are there any other teams in the 21C DCU?
Maybe we need a second JLA title to house all those good ex-members that can't find a home in the current one.

This is kinda cool, Blacula! Not to mention, you ALSO picked Dr. Light. And we have the same reasons for almost-but-not picking Maya.
Maybe they can set up a League Academy or something?

Dr Light NEEDS to be back in the JLA yesterday!
Now that I think about it - I wonder if she's going to have a role in Infinite Crisis? She was kind of an integral part of the first Crisis.

And I'd like to see Mera finally prove her worth as the cool heroine she is out of Aquaman's shadow too.
Back in the 70's when the JLA writers did a poll to see who the fans wanted to be the next member of the JLA (and Zatanna won) Mera was like the second or third most popular choice. I've always wondered how different things would've been if she'd won that poll.

Maybe Aquababy might not have died if Mera had joined the League, then again, who knows what caused it and why..She had some sort of hard-water power which enabled her (i think) to form various sorts of weaponry to use against her opponents

That would be interesting ... probably make DC's Marketing department though. A JLA where the highest-profile characters are Troia and the Atom.
"Gee, Brainy, what do you want to do tonight?" "The same thing we do every night, Bouncing Boy: try to take over the United Planets!!" They're B.B. and The Brain ...

I only picked eleven because I wanted Hawkwoman on the team. It's about time she joined in the post-Crisis universe. Carter Hall doesn't work for me and neither does Kendra. I think Shayera Thal is a better choice than either of those two.

Poll Results: JLA Post-Conscience/Post-Crisis Poll (35 votes.) The bottom line was that, while there was a strong support for the story elements, the majority of Legion World voters were critical of the results and impact on the characters. BATMAN: Forgive and Forget - it happened, move on. 40% (14) Never Forget - friends wouldn't do that! 37% (13) Forget this Story Ever Happened! Need. Zatanna. Amnesia. Spell. 23% (8)
SUE DIBNY: Wow. What unhappy writers. 37% (13) Wow. Need. Zatanna. Amnesia. Spell. 34% (12) Wow. What a story! 29% (10)
JEAN LORING: Over the top - isn't divorce enough? 57% (20) Need. Zatanna. Amnesia. Spell. 31% (11) Rise of a top-notch villain. 11% (4)
After the Crisis...What should the JLA look like? Sattelite Supreme Era 51% (18) Something else else Totally Different/None of the Above (please post) 20% (7) Disband them for a time. 14% (5) Obsidian Age 6% (2) These are tied at 3% (1) vote each: Founding 5, Magnificent 7, Justice League Elite
Post-conscience (post-crisis?) JL: I was surprised at the top results. It seemed that the characters in the "urban vigilante" category tended to do better overall than others, with those in "Hot Shot Rookies" coming in lowest. The final line up would look A LOT like the comics' pre-Crisis sattelite era (minus Red Tornado, unfortunately). A VERY pleasant surprise was JOHN STEWART as the GL with the most votes!
Warrior Women - Black Canary 51% (18)
Urban Vigilantes- Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) 49% (17)
Warrior Women - Wonder Woman 46% (16) Super Science - Atom 46% (16) Magicians - Zatanna 46% (16)
Wildcards - Flash (Wally West) 43% (15) Otherworldly Adventurers - Martian Manhunter 43% (15) Ubermen - Superman 43% (15) Ubermen - Hawkman 43% (15)
Urban Vigilantes- Batman 34% (12)
Super Science - Green Lantern (John Stewart) 29% (10)
Maids of Might - Troia 26% (9) Urban Vigilantes- Nightwing 26% (9) Urban Vigilantes- Black Lightning 26% (9) Urban Vigilantes- Elongated Man 26% (9) Otherworldly Adventurers - Booster Gold 26% (9)
(NOTE: Because of their current story arcs, Zatanna, Batman & Wonder Woman are probably not going to be part of JLA for awhile. This is where the cut-off would be for the Legion World voters: Black Canary, Green Arrow (Ollie), Atom, Martian Manhunter, Flash (Wally), Superman, Hawkman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Troia, Nightwing, Black Lightning, Elongated Man, Booster Gold . Pretty interesting, no?)
Otherworldly Adventurers - Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) 23% (8) Urban Vigilantes- Huntress 23% (8) Ubermen - Aqua Man 23% (8)
Magicians - Tempest 20% (7) Wildcards - Fire 20% (7)
Super Science - Dr. Light 17% (6) Hot Shot Rookies - Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner) 17% (6)
Maids of Might - Mary Marvel 14% (5) Ubermen - Captain Marvel / Shazam 14% (5) Hot Shot Rookies - Green Arrow (Conner Hawke) 14% (5) Warrior Women - Starfire 14% (5)
Urban Vigilantes- Catwoman 11% (4) Maids of Might - Power Girl 11% (4) Maids of Might - Jade 11% (4) Warrior Women - Hawkgirl 11% (4) Hot Shot Rookies - Ray 11% (4) Hot Shot Rookies - Damage 11% (4) Hot Shot Rookies - Firestorm 11% (4) Wildcards - Vixen 11% (4) Otherworldly Adventurers - Red Tornado 11% (4) Super Science - Oracle 11% (4)
Ubermen - Captain Atom 9% (3) Super Science - Bumblebee 9% (3) Hot Shot Rookies - Jesse Quick 9% (3) Hot Shot Rookies - Faith 9% (3) Magicians - Dr. Fate 9% (3) Warrior Women - Big Barda 9% (3) Maids of Might - Supergirl 9% (3)
Warrior Women - Katana 6% (2) Warrior Women - Grace 6% (2) Super Science - Mr. Terrific 6% (2) Wildcards - Animal Man 6% (2) Wildcards - Starman (Jack Knight) 6% (2) Hot Shot Rookies - Gypsy 6% (2) Hot Shot Rookies - Amazing Man 6% (2) Otherworldly Adventurers - Zauriel 6% (2) Otherworldly Adventurers - Adam Strange 6% (2) Ubermen - Hourman (Rick Tyler) 6% (2) Ubermen - Robotman 6% (2) Ubermen - Geo Force 6% (2) Urban Vigilantes- Bronze Tiger 6% (2)
Hot Shot Rookies - Coldcast 3% (1) Hot Shot Rookies - Halo 3% (1) Hot Shot Rookies - Aztek 3% (1) Urban Vigilantes- Catman 3% (1) Wildcards - Ice Maiden 3% (1) Wildcards - Mister Miracle (Scott Free) 3% (1) Wildcards - Green Lantern (Guy Gardner) 3% (1) Wildcards - Major Disaster 3% (1) Wildcards - Plastic Man 3% (1) Magicians - Phantom Stranger 3% (1) Magicians - Dr. Occult 3% (1) Magicians - Bloodwynd 3% (1) Magicians - Manitou Raven 3% (1) Magicians - Dawn Raven 3% (1) Otherworldly Adventurers - Mera 3% (1) Otherworldly Adventurers - Blue Devil 3% (1) Otherworldly Adventurers - Black Orchid 3% (1) Otherworldly Adventurers - Nightshade 3% (1) Super Science - Dr. Midnite 3% (1) Super Science - Cyborg 3% (1) Super Science - Flash (Jay Garrick) 3% (1) Ubermen - Iron Munro 3% (1) Urban Vigilantes- Wildcat 3% (1) Urban Vigilantes- Creeper 3% (1) Roy Harper - Arsenal (Write-In) Halo (write-in) Hawkwoman (write-in)
