JLA the autopsy (gross but if you are reading IDC I suppose it is essential) IDENTITY CRISIS #6 (finnally the wait is over) NIGHTWING #99 (maybe though it has stunk pretty bad lately) AVENGERS FINALE #1 (though I am pissed at Bendis I am still a sucker) MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN #8 (I rarely read non-ulitmate spide but this has been very good)

Identity Crisis! I actually couldn't wait (as usual), and flipped through the book at the store.
The guy behind the register looked up in surprise because I think I actually mumbled, "What the *&@!#$!" out loud...

- Identity Crisis - JSA (FYI, this is the autopsy issue, not "JLA" as Brainy states above) - Thunderbolts - Iron Man - Avengers Finale

All I got this week were a couple of alternative comics. Savage Henry-Powerchords and a new Post Bros. spinoff called Bugtown
...and thanks for reminding me guys, I left the bag in the car when I got home. Woohoo!

Identity Crisis JSA (which is what Brainy obviously meant - too much booze!) Avengers Finale MK Spider-Man Green Lantern: Rebirth (never got it when it came out - but did get it for cover price rather than the mark-up) Iron Man New Thunderbolts Walking Dead Invisibles TPB #3 And if Ocean #2 was out and I missed it I'll be pissed

I got the last part of the Supergirl from Krypton saga in Superman/Batman #13. Kind of ambivalent over the whole return of Kara Zor-El thing. I got kind of attached to the Supergirl as Earth Angel, missed the entire Cir-El drama, and now Kara's back in continuity. As much as I like Supergirl, I don't know what to think about this turn of events.
What was I thinking about?

E, that's the last S/B book I'm buying. I only read it because of my affection for Supergirl but I wasn't impressed enough with the book to continue buying it. I'm also ambivalent about the future of this Supergirl.
Like you, I liked early Supergirl (as Earth Angel), but I didn't like what it devolved into.

I think the biggest thing against this new Supergirl is that in this continuity, she's just the latest in the line - another Robin or something. Kara might mean something to readers and have a certain iconic status because of her history, but that's not a part of this rebooted Supergirl at all. If DC wants to give her a place in the DCU, she'll need to do something really BIG to establish this rather than just be "Superman's little cousin" or "just another Supergirl".

Yeah, Drake. DC needs to do something daring with the new Supergirl like...oh I dunno...maybe have her join the Legion of Superheroes? Supergirl in the Legion, what a crazy idea, eh?

We know that's not happening right away, YK, since Waid said ties to the 21st Century were going to be downplayed.

I never read any of the pre-Crisis SUpergirl stories, but I think this time around, Kara was introduced to DC continuity and the DC super heroes WAY too quickly. I liked the idea (pre-crisis) that Superman kept her hidden and developed her powers as a secret weapon. Now, in 6 issues, she's all over the place! (Gotham City, Fortress of Solitude, Metropolis, Paradise Island and Apokolips).
