This is a collection of the acclaimed Franklin Richards strips that ran in the back of the recent POWER PACK miniseries, plus a new one. Looks cute-- Anybody read these yet, or are you getting this collection? Here's the solicitation info: Fantastic Four Presents: Franklin Richards, Son of a Genius 1 Marvel, $2.99 Written by MARC SUMERAK & CHRIS ELIOPOULOS Art by CHRIS ELIOPOULOS
Move over, Mr. Fantastic - Marvel's First Family has a brand new star! Franklin Richards finally hits the big time in this one-shot special, collecting all four critically-acclaimed FRANKLIN RICHARDS: SON OF A GENIUS stories from the pages of POWER PACK! What could be better than that? How about a brand-new story that sees Franklin and H.E.R.B.I.E. gearing up for the wildest Halloween in Marvel history?! It's 'fun' with a capital 'FF'!

I think I ordered two. I loved the back-ups in the PP mini and was kinda disappointed they weren't included in the trade digest until I remembered they were doing this.
Anyone who enjoyed Calvin and Hobbes should get this.

No, nothing that heavy is explored. But given his penchant for tinkering around in Reed's lab he most likely has gotten himself stuck at five-years-old permanently.

I loved Barry Ween but I still think it, and SoaG, owe their origins to Calvin.

It's about time somebody let little Franklin grow up - when was he born exactly? 1968-1969? I don't get how Marvel time works. If it was real time, he'd be in his mid-twenties by now and so would explain Reed's perpetual grey sideburns...

How old is Franklin supposed to be anyway in Marvel time? He seemed older when he was hanging out with Power Pack, but lately he seems to have de-aged a bit.
In the latest "The Pulse", Susan Storm says that her kids "used to" have powers - when did Franklin lose his?
And what does H.E.R.B.I.E. stand for?

[/b]Don't ask me for her convuluted history but the Richards have a daughter too, named Valeria Richards. Named after the woman Doom loved and eventually killed. IIRC Doom helped deliver her because Reed was caught up in some crisis.

Okay, I'll try not to let that thought ruin my enjoyment of Son of a Genius. I found a copy when I went out at lunch today.

OK, I haven't actually read those issues since I don't have access to a comic shop up here. I think if you read the 1st two paragraphs it's pretty clear how it happened though.
