Damian is the only one who didn't bother me, because I figured R'as and Talia grew him in a tube between issues. But to squeeze in Grayson, Todd and drake in before Damian. I guess Morrison has figured that out, but my guess is that the compression eliminates most of Dick's time with the Titans as Robin and Nightwing. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm actually not up to speed at all on Damian's actual story--Son of the Demon and all that. I started with Batman and Son, and I don't recall much of an origin recap. Seems like an easy, and good, story to have a young Bruce, traveling the world training, hook up with Talia and father a child as part of a R'as plot (R'as the foresighted futurist intuits the potential and threat that Bruce will pose). So if Bruce knocks up Talia when he is 18, you could get a creepy Damian by the time Bruce is 30, especially if R'as and Talia use their alchemical villainy to accelerate Damian's development. So, it works.

I think that we will see more titles in the months to come, as they bring more characters out of the mothballs.
There is supposed to be a Speed Force title that was announced a while ago, and re-announced not that long ago. Batman Inc. is coming back next year. The Beyond Universe is supposed to be expanding.
There are more things coming I bet. This is just their major push for September.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

What it looks like to me is that "urban legend" Batman predates Superman and openly active "super-beings" in general by some years. Meanwhile, there's "never been a Justice League or Titans" until now, so Dick and Tim will have been far more Gotham-centric over their careers.

Honestly, a lot of these launches look very tempting. It's amazing the sheer number of books DC are taking big chances with. I applaud them for the sheer diversity and for the willingness to give characters who've failed before another chance to prove themselves. I'm actually having to use considerable restraint to reel back what I'm trying out. Many of the ones I don't get, I'll be watching reviews carefully to see what's being said. Lots of potential for impulse buys and trade pickups.
For now, I'm mostly going with characters and especially creators I really want to follow the most. It looks like about 20 of these will make my initial pull list.

I've decided I'm going to actually add Grifter because of the creative team. If it was a writer or artist I didn't know this would be a HARD pass. But both writer and artist are cutting edge impressive like Nick Spencer and Jonathan Hickman.
So, that right there was well done by DC.
Who'd have thunk I'd be getting a Wildstorm character? Even Voodoo doesn't look too bad.

I really don't care about any of the current titles that aren't Legion related, so the fact that they seemed to have *censored* them six way to Sunday really doesn't bother me. What they are going to do with the Legion is still rather unclear from the solisitation for LSH #1. However, I am absolutely horrified by the solisitation for I, Vampire #1. It should be Andrew Bennet, not Andrew Stanton. And the phrase 'Queen of the Damned' to describe Mary Queen of the Blood Moon just make me want to puke. I suppose Andrew will be a rock star? Or they'll get all sparkly in sunlight instead of combusting?

Didn't Andrew Stanton make "Finding Nemo"?

CAFU is the artist on Thunder Agents. Originally posted by superboymddjr: I thought that I...Vammpire was gay....he said that himself in Team 13...hmm? The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."

Don't forget blue Starman, Tasmanian Devil, Piper and Achilles.
Grace and Thunder from The Outsiders. Scandal Savage and Knockout.
Of these, I'd say Piper has the best chance to appear-- though possibly 'revillainized'. Hmmm. If there's no Wally, maybe he could be Dick Grayson's best friend?

well thats what I am wondering about those 2nd/3rd rate heroes/characters/villains....
i doubt that we will see Mikhail, Tazzie, Piper, Grace & Thunder, Savage and Knockout sometimes soon within one year (same with Obsidian) in those books. I dont see Tazzie on the JLI cover book. i m hoping to see MIkhail (and Congorilla) in JL book as they said that there will be 14 members.
Piper better not be a villain, period.
who is Achilles, this is the 2nd time it has been mentioned here when I am reading on other thread?

He's a Wonder Woman opponent-turned-ally that debuted during Gail Simone's role. He sometimes goes by the name 'Warkiller' and rides a flying elephant with two trunks and three eyes named Mysia. Most recently, he was hanging out with The Outsiders. Here\'s more...

I did not add 2 + 2 on Achilles when I read Wonder Woman. oh boy. i need to read both Wonder Woman and Outsiders again. thanks.

According to the official Sept Solit, Batman is going to be the one who gets the JLA together? Ugh. Do we really need another "Batman is smartest one there is" stamp on his card? Now the JLA is his idea? I hope it's more interesting than that. I don't need the title to become "Batman and his Amazing Friends."

I, Vampire seems returned to the roots of the original De Matteis storyline from the early 1980s. I didn't read it then, so I guess I won't notice if they repeat lots of stuff.
I buck the trend (shocking!), but for some reason I've rarely enjoyed vampire stories mashed up with super heroes. I think a lot of the other mystical, sorcery stuff can work fine (it's an alternative kind of science), but vampires seem to much their own, serious thing to work well with other genres. Although some of the more updated versions might work.

So I've spent a good chunk of vacation time reading up on the relaunch, and I'm pretty convinced the subtext is to finally Marvelize DC. What I mean by Marvelize is to give DC the of easy going, low threshold character interactions that Marvel has, the real sense of a shared universe. DC never had that--it's editors were all-powerful, even after Crisis on Infinite Earths, so things were done in a piecemeal fashion and you end up with characters that keep never having met and whose backstories are mangled gibberish. Even the most recent efforts, like with the JLA, saw events paralyze and then end the "big guns" approach to the book that fans seem to want. If Superman is off world for a year discovering his roots and Batman is dead/lost in time and Wonder Woman is trapped in a personal sideways timeline, Green Lantern is chasing rainbows, Aquaman is a Pirates of the Caribbean fish man and no one can keep straight who Hawkman is, the shared universe doesn't work, or at a minimum is a waste of the word "shared.". The description of the relaunch implies some pretty tough coordination from the EIC to rein in group editors and creators. Although it's tricky--you want a meaningful shared universe but you want unleashed creators bringing fresh ideas to an old line.
