....so if nura lives in querl's head... and nura can see the future, does that mean querl, TECHNICALLY, has her powers? basically, he has someone giving him a cheat sheet each night, right?

also. i want their baby to be named "neural" because that's hilarious.

....anyways. that's not really thread worthy so...

given that Lo3W's wrap up coincides with the end of shooter's contract on the book, who would you not mind taking over for him? or on the art side? dream teams, people! or... predictions.

personally i want manapul to stay. forever. until he has to fake his death to get away from it. but if we had to say good bye, i'd love to see karl kerschl since he can draw a teenager like no one's business. as for writing...well geoff johns. but lately i've been reading paul dini's batman and man!! every issue is so creative, i wouldn't mind seeing a few issues where the legion solves mysteries. SPACE MYSTERIES.

Well my absolute Dream team would be Levitz/Doran, but that's not really gonna happen.

I'm interested to see more of John's Legion, so I'd like him paired with a complimentary artist. Maybe Williams III?

Outside of the box, I'd really dig seeing John Ostrander jump on the Legion. He such a continuity wonk, but still manages to weave the elements into a great story (long before it was Johns' claim to fame). I think he'd be great in the 30th century. Not sure who a good artist would be for him though. Eaglesham?

Based solely on the one page spread in Books of Magic, a Gaiman/Johnson Legion would be pretty mind blowing (or even better: Gaiman/Bolton).

I'd love seeing a Giffen/DeMatteis Legion, not in a humorous sense, but like they managed to work for Dr. Fate and other more serious books. Artwork by Giffen himself, or Manapul.
I'd love to see a Mignola Legion too. Never gonna happen. Again, I'd love to see the Legion going more artsy and Vertigo-like than dumbing down again. Shooter is threading on a fine line so far, but few can do the same.

A writer like Kurt Busiek teamed with an artist like Brett Booth or Steve Lightle would turn my crank.

The writing, for me, would be a big one. Lately some of the biggest 'name' writers really, really, really bug me. Too many hot writers seem to get their kicks telling stories that end with a colossal wimper and involve splatterpunk-esque gorefests, massive bodycounts or sexually 'mature' scenes for shock or titillation value that, IMO, only interest people who *aren't* 'mature.' Cue Sue Dibny reference, here, or the blowing up of half of the New X-Men, or the punching to death of various Teen Titans at the hands of Prime or Black Adam.

Whoever the writer is, I would want it to be someone who doesn't peddle sensationalist candy in the school parking lot.

Alan Moore is the only comic book writer who can write 'mature' while still being *mature,* IMO. And I wouldn't want him on the Legion. smile

I'm terrible at this game. I always want Adam Hughes back, or the latest hottest X-Men artist... and I don't even read X-Men books.

As much as I can never get enough of Lightle or, mentioned before, Doran; I'm not done yet with Manipul.

Willingham is my writer. His large ensemble characters have very distinct personalities and he can handle complex mysteries. I'm not seen anything to say he could handle Sci-Fi as good as Shooter or DnA, but it'd be interesting to see.

yeah, i love willingham's characters and cool plot twists! i think writing really out there stories with fantasy lends itself to doing interesting thing with a futuristic, space setting! and he's REALLY funny!!!

oh you know , i forgot that stracynski will be writing legion for the brave and the bold!! i cannot wait to see what he'll do! i've loved JMS since babylon 5, i wouldn't mind him being on it. forever. i think we'd see some really beautifully rich alien race cultures *swoon*

I'm with you on that, bro... smile Brad Metlzer is so overrated - his JLA was a good waste of paper (yeah, especially that clichéd issue with Gene Ha). And I really can't see good writers such as Ennis or Brubacker working on a Legion book.
Would Matt Fraction work on a Legion book? From his text on Callahan book, I can't say he wouldn't... If he puts out something on the same level of Casanova or Iron Fist, it would be a treat.

Except Willingham's distinct personalities more often than not completely ignore the established ones. I couldn't stand Day of Vengeance because none of the Shadowpact seemed to be the same characters I wanted to read about. Granted, I'm probably one of the few readers who was familiar enough with the Giffen Ragman, Enchantress, Nightshade and Nightmaster to really get turned off by this, but he really missed the mark IMHO. Maybe his creator owned stuff is better, but I just haven't been impressed with anyhting I've read.

Ooh, Willingham, I forgotten all about him! I loved his work on the Elementals, although, like rouge, I'm not so sure about his work with other people's characters.

Busiek remains my top choice, because he's really, really good with pre-existing characters.

Busiek and Ross doing a 31st Century "Marvels" would be interesting.

I would like to see what Alan Moore could bring to the series - certainly maturity.

Neil Gaiman? hmm interesting thought.

If Perez could do a monthly, I would love him to stay

I'll say it, I'd like to see the Legion drawn by Greg Land. I'd like to see the Bryan Hitch Legion.

I may be struck by lightning (no Legionnaire pun intended) but I was not a fan of Immomen's work when he did Legion. It *may* have been the inks, but I found it un-polished.

you know, the legionnaires made an appearance in an issue of the JSA, and i thought amanda conner did a very nice good of drawing the teens, very cute and appropriate, i love her style a lot more after reading the pro.

Scribe? Mark Millar for story/plots and James Robinson for dialogue.

Jim Cheung, one of those artists who had experience drawing youth quite realistically, to pencil in the figures (but the women - that's reserved for Adam Hughes... not! wink Interior/background art pencilled by Mauro Cascioli. Art inked digitally by Jamie Grant and colored by Tom Feister (who did The Legion covers).

Disclaimer: If you're a hardcore, conservative Legion fan... then we'll just go with Levitz/Giffen. Or if you remove the timespace barrier... Birdwell/Cockrum?</span>

Unfortunately, the Legion is no exception.

Artists I'd like to see draw the Legion.
Art Adams
Alex Ross
Bob McLeod
Brian Bolland
Frank Brunner
Kevin Maguire
Kevin Nowlan
Michael Golden
Paul Gulacy
Jim Balent
Brent Anderson
Ty Templeton

As for Writers,I think they should have a love and understanding of what the Legion is about, and build upon the characters, concept and continuity, and not destroy or replace it with their own versions,So I guess my answer would be.
Jim Shooter
Paul Levitz
and maybe Geoff Johns

I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman.
But they won't.

My feasible dream, after reading his Silver Surfer: Requiem thing: an Annual by Straczynski, with Giffen on pencils.
