Same here, never dates. And, funnily enough, when I was a wee lass, I misheard the lyrics as,

"Paul Revere is Lady O'Hara"

Catholic upbringings can have weird results. angel

^^Which would appear to prove my theory that Ibby is, in fact, Huckleberry Hound.

lol hug

Huckleberry's original voice actor, Charles "Daws" Butler, based the voice on a friend of his in-laws. He never did clarify whether or not this guy kept singing "Clementine" off-key.

I did some voice acting once for some friends' animated comedy short. They never completed the project, but at least we had fun. I was the perky Ally McBeal type trying to help a dude who was being railroaded for some minor offense or another. I got praise for how easy it was for me to reel off tons of legalese without stumbling over any words. laugh

I learned early on to make my voice just a little deeper, to sound more adult.

I'll admit it: sometimes when I'm writing a fictional story, I'll do character voices out loud. Alan Moore says he did it when he was younger; I'm sure a lot of other writers have done it.

I'm terrible at creating new characters. I can do established characters quite a bit better.

Marvel and DC don't provide proper incentives for creating new characters.

Seems like when I was still posting to fan fiction dot net, there was real controversy about whether it serves a story well to create new major characters or not. My personal rule was that it was fun to do and useful if you wanted to have an outsider's perspective of the existing heroes. BUT I didn't want to have my OC's join the team. That's just where I personally drew the line.

There's also a fine balance, between original characters meshing with the existing ones; or stealing the spotlight.

Yes, it's important not to Harmonia Li your new favourite creation.

I'm not so sure how much Paul Levitz actually liked Harmonia, because I am convinced he was planning to reveal her to be the Time Trapper.

The fact that we never got the whole Glorith desplorping story is one of the things that annoys me the most about that run.

I'm not convinced that that specific Glorith was a desplorped original. I mean, I know retro-boot was supposed to be more or less the original Legion (or something approximate to it) up until near the end of Vol. 3, but I don't recall any of the Legionnaires going, "hmmm, 'Glorith', eh? Wonder if she has anything do with that chick that was turned into goo way back?" I think maybe she was a reimagined version of Glorith with the prior version retconned out. Hence, she wasn't desplorped because there was never a Glorith splorped in the first place! nod grin

Whether it was Paul's intention or not, I love the desplorping idea so much that I'd be willing to retcon our timeline to make it his plan all along!

Who else could be desplorped?

Proty I obviously, but it's not the only one...

Hmm... splorping involves being de-aged to a protoplasmic state. I'm not sure if Antareans, being naturally protoplasmic, can really be desplorped.
