[grumble] Gonna' take this board back to its best days by finally figuring out how to nuke Facebook from orbit. [shakes fist] But first, a nap.

It'd be funny to hear Paul Rudd talk like Elmer Fudd.

There's a radio adaptation of It's A Wonderful Life in which Arthur Q. Bryan voices Clarence the Angel, which is hilarious because I just automatically picture Elmer Fudd.

Ah, the great old voice actors like Arthur Q. Bryan...I mean, every generation has its share of great voice actors, but when Radio was King, there was a special kind of magic.

I never knew that Elmer was voiced by someone other than Mel Blanc. A little research shows Mel did certain of Elmer's exclamations, cries, etc., but Bryan did all the meaningful voice work on the character during Elmer's most significant and recognizable era, including his singing in the classic "What's Opera, Doc?" I knew certain side characters like Witch Hazel had been voiced by others, but I always thought Mel was Elmer, along with most of the others. Thanks for that! I've also never thought Sting sounded like Elmer Fudd, singing or otherwise.

I think I remember Stan Freberg (who voiced Pete Puma and one of the Gopher Twins) saying in his memoirs that Blanc wasn't very gracious about sharing the spotlight with other voice artists. On the other hand, he did live in Oregon for a time, and I had a friend in college whose Dad called in a favor and had Blanc call his son on his birthday to sing him a birthday greeting as Porky Pig.

I've also never thought Sting sounded like Elmer Fudd, singing or otherwise. He doesn't sound like Elmer Fudd, he sounds like Scooby-Doo. (Scooby's original voice actor, Don Messick, also voiced three of the original Transformers: Ratchet, Gears, and Scavenger.)

Alan Reed is another veteran radio actor whose voice is forever associated with a cartoon character. There are a staggering number of detective shows in which a random hotel manager or ship captain or something sounds exactly like Fred Flintstone!

Alan Reed's replacement as Fred Flintstone, Henry Corden, actually played Fred longer than Reed.
Reed played Fred from '61 until his death in '77.
Corden played Fred from '77 until his death in 2002.
IIRC, even before he took over the role full-time, Corden had already done a lot of Fred's singing.

Now, if Scoob somehow has a weird reggae fixation, I could see it.....

And the villain of that episode was the Flying Spaghetti Monster!
Scoob and Shag have to decide which is stronger: fear or hunger!

That skit seems to be almost universally disliked by fans, but on the other hand it's positively Shakespearian compared to that dog of a film it's attached to. (And of course, in the actual film, it was a kinkajou and not a lemur.)

Robot actually uses the phrase "...go to the bathroom." How can I not love that?)
