That was the line after my first sentence! I took it out thinking it would allow someone else to use it! Sure, I was taking a chance, but my Gambit paid off.

I Marvel at these puns. But will it cause the thread to die or will it rise like a Phoenix from the ashes.

Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) is one of the few adventure cartoons associated with my generation that I never got to see.
Which is especially weird, because Ecuadorian TV did broadcast a lot of uncut anime dubs, such as Mazinger Z, which were far more violent than Gatchaman.

A very good friend of mine went to Ecuador with her long-time boyfriend on vacation. He proposed, and now I'm going to their wedding in Mauritius

Charles Schulz's "Peanuts" characters used to shill for Zingers and other Dolly Madison products.

Dolley Madison served as Thomas Jefferson’s hostess when he was president. He was a widower at the time and couldn’t acknowledge Sally Hemings.
She then became First Lady when her husband became president.

You knew you'd arrived as a hero, when you got your own Hostess cakes ad in a comic.

Fun bit of trivia: Marvel villain Icemaster was originally introduced in a Hostess ad. I believe he is the only character to have made the jump from Hostess ads to a regular super-hero universe.
Though if I ever wrote Batman, a rematch with Topsy Turvy Man would be high on the agenda.

Heroes and villains with "common" powers can be tough to write, I think. Like with Marvel's telepaths. How do you make one stand out from the crowd?
The Stepford Cuckoos by basically being a quintuplet hive mind...

As a telepath you stand out from the crowd by wearing a red bikini.

Imra should've a made the Legionnaires wear medallions with a picture of her the bikini. It would've been much more popular.

I doubt Element Lad, Chemical King, or Invisible Kid I would have. Not to mention my own made up Legionnaires Size Queen and Queer Boy.
