Yeah FL - one's enjoyment of a film is totally subjective and my sense is that you and I differ from a matter of perspective. The comedy of "First Contact" is like I mentioned, akin to "Voyage Home" and by all accounts, that movie was insanely ludicrous! And it was as self-indulgent as any fan-fiction, but if you feel "in on it" in a fanboyish way, then it's enjoyable to see these familiar characters in these absurd situations yet act in a way that feels in keeping with their characters. They're totally like a sitcom in that way, but y'know ... one of the better ones that you like a lot. wink
