So, I have been working doing intakes from people who think they were affected by the drug lab scandals. Most of the calls come from prisoners and usually we get just the one call. Some call back if they haven't heard from their attorney. One of the call backs was a guy named Jamal. When I found out his next court date for him, he got a little excited and said "When I get out, I'm going to have to take you to dinner." I said "That's OK. I'm just doing my job." He called back a couple of times and among his "legitimate" questions, he'd ask how my lunch was, how my day was going. Then I didn't hear from him for a couple of months. Until just two weeks ago, he called needing to get in touch with his attorney about getting some paperwork sent to him. When I did and relayed the response back to him, he again said "I'm going to have to take you to lunch on Newbury St." I again declined. I then told him that I was leaving the job (the calls have fallen off and they can't justify keeping me. What do you expect, it is a temp assignment). When Jamal heard that he was like "How will I keep in touch with you? Can I Facebook you?" I was like "Er That's not something I can do." He did call back the next day to wish me luck and I would not be surprised if he calls again tomorrow (my last day)

Maybe he's just really grateful, Quis? Erring on the side of caution sounds like a wise policy though

Sounds like this guy's getting a little too friendly. You might say something like, "I appreciate the offer, but it's against company policy for employees to interact socially with clients." If he brings up the fact that you're no longer going to be an employee, tell him you might get a callback.

Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea are current applicants for membership in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The full ASEAN membership now is Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.
Papua New Guinea's membership has been stalled partly due to concerns about the country's lack of development (although the "official" reason is its status as being partly in Asia and partly in Oceania; while for Timor-Leste it is the country's lack of development (although it's mainly Singapore which is snubbing the country; other member nations including former colonizer Indonesia have expressed support).

Well, Jamal called again today. He wished my luck and said he'd try to call back before I leave. He did, but the call went to my co-worker instead.

Bolivia was named after freedom fighter Simon Bolivar. Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela were also liberated by Simon.

Grandchild: I am four today!
Self: I only see one of you. Where are the other three?
Grandchild: I... don't... know...
. . . . . . . . .
Grandchild: (excitedly exhibiting his new Star Wars Figurine Collection) Do you know who this is?
Self: That's R2D2.
Grandchild: Correct. Do you know who this is?
Self: That's C3PO.
Grandchild: Correct. Do you know who this is?
Self: That's Anakin Skywalker.
Grandchild: Correct. Do you know who this is?
Self: That's Obi-wan Kenobi. He's our only hope.
Grandchild: (Expression of utter confusion.)

Ethiopia is the only present-day African country to never have been colonized. They also still use their own Ethiopian calendar, which puts them about 7 years behind the Gregorian one.

Flash Fact: Some lightning bolts are so energetic they actually transmute electrons into positrons-- which then immediately annihilate, emitting gamma rays at the characteristic frequency.
Satellites have detected these gamma rays in some particularly ferocious thunderstorms.
Anti-matter is all around us!

Apparently, the Internet is for porn. (don't worry, very much safe for work!) Just keep the volume down!

It would be really cool if in this new Flash TV series, John Wesley Shipp could guest star as Jay Garrick.

It would be nice if XS or Jesse Quick showed up, just so we'd have a female speedster too.

A lot of people have trouble believing that my hair is a natural dark brown. It only really shows under bright light.

cleome's Burger Recipe:
1 lb. beef (85% lean is best. I like Deck Farms. Expensive, but worth it.) 2 generous T finely-chopped onion (white or red) 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1/2 tsp Angoustura (aromatic) bitters 1/2 tsp powdered mustard 1/4 tsp ground pepper (black, white, or Cayenne)
Mix everything gently but thoroughly in a bowl. Shape into your desired size/dimension patty. (I like 'em thin.) Grill to your desired doneness (medium-rare for me). Add cheese, bun, and condiments and dig in!

Sadly, I don't have a recipe for a chocolate Frosty™. I'll just have to have fresh fruit for dessert instead.
