The Namib Sand Sea (in Namibia of course) is the only coastal desert in the world to have fog.

Dos Equis Amber is pretty damn nasty, imo. It took me over three hours to down a six-pack because I wasn't eager to take that next sip. Disappointing, plus the buzz was rather tame.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

Fiji, Qatar and Lesotho got their first sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List this year. Last year it was Congo, Palau, Chad and Palestine. Other recent entrants are the Marshall Islands and Kiribati.

My choir director refers to someone being slightly off pitch as an "approximata".

Or is it "approximatura"? No matter. She usually says it to the basses.

When I joined a choir made of friends, I was classified as a bass despite my voice not being consistently low-pitched. Sometimes I still forget myself and speak in a higher pitch as well.

Whenever I see a "Re-Reading The Legion Archive" post in the "Active Topics" screen that quotes one of Cobalt Kid's reviews, the lack of formatting blends the "Originally Posted By: Cobalt Kid" and "Adventure Comics #" into one line and makes me think - for a fraction of a second - that it's a post talking about "Cobalt Kid Adventure Comics".
I'm just saying... I would read the hell out of that book.

Many Southeast Asian nations' capitals are arguably NOT their most popular travel destinations. Cambodia's Sieam Reap is top because of its proximity to Angkor; Laos' Luang Prabang is arguably more visited than Vientiane; Myanmar's Bagan/Yangon/Mandalay triangle has more ancient sights than the newly-built Naypyidaw; Indonesia is visited more for Bali and Yogyakarta (which is near Borobudur and Prambana) than for Jakarta; and the Philippines is known more for the beaches of Boracay and Palawan, and for the Ifugao Rice Terraces, than it is for Manila.

I once had to watch my mother explain to her aunt what a "queef" is. This reminds me of a conversation I had with my mother-in-law. I gave my wife a pair of pearl earrings. When she showed them to her mom, this is what was said - M-i-L : "They are gorgeous! You should give her a pearl necklace next" (wife starts snickering) Me: "you want me to give your daughter a pearl necklace?" M-i-L : "Yes, think how nice it'll be!" (wife is now laughing, I'm starting to crack up) M-i-L : "what's so funny?" I left that for the wife to explain!!

I had to look up what the things Lardy and Virdie were talking about on Urban Dictionary.

My face is now scarlet. Yeah, Archer does that to me all the time. What's a 'quadroon?' What's Pam mean by 'pushing rope?' Probably not the best sort of way to be expanding my vocabulary... Lana Kane's voice actress, Aisha Tyler, has been on the TV series XIII on Netflix, which wasn't a great show, but it's fun to close my eyes and hear Lana's voice.

Myanmar, Singapore, Brunei and Timor-Leste are the only countries in Southeast Asia to not have a UNESCO World Heritage site. UNESCO has been encouraging Myanmar to submit applications though, considering they have several cities with sites worthy of inclusion (Bagan, Mandalay and Yangon).

The closest group of friends I ever had now live respectively in LA, Cairo, and Hong Kong. With me in Philly... that means the sun never sets on our friendship.
On the one hand, that's an amazingly lovely sentiment... on the other... I miss them so much.
