I miss home too much, and family, and friends, and the "boyf", and the sun.
But I'm definately going to try and get up to Edinburgh, soon!!!
I might live on the butt end of the world, but I get to see the days before anyone else.... mwaahahahahahaha

A church on the main thoroughfare in Aberdeen. Aberdeen as seen looking back from one of my favourite spots, the Torry Battery.

I think my friend Scott took me to the Torry Battery when I visited him.
I really liked Dunottar Castle though.

Went to Dunottar yesterday and got a few photos. Unfortunately it's only open from 2 - 5 on a Sunday, so we didn't get in. Once I get things sorted out I'll see about posting the good ones.

I alays forget how clean aberdeen is! Pity about the weather really Isn't that the kirk that always has the ridiculous pseudo- biblical phrases on the poster board - "repent - you know you'll like it really!" , "Christmas is also about pupies!" , "Sunday is the Lords day - He doesn't mind if you share it though!" , "Christ is like coffee! Enjoy!" , and "God says - do try to be good!"
Legion Worlds NINE - wait, there's even more ongoing amazing adventures? Yup, and you'll only find them in the Bits o' Legionnaire Business Forum.

I think last weeks quote was "Don't! You'll go to HELL for it!" And this weeks is "Honest - we're not kidding!" FYI2 - if you (double?)click on the panoramic photo you can see a bit more detail.

The attached was taken on the same day as the previous photo. I thought I’d zoom in close enough to make out the days quote – LOVE means PROTECTING – from 1st Corintians. There is however another poster partly obscured by someone walking past which says WHEN GOD MEETS YOU… and apparently inviting people to lunch on Tuesday. Judging by the title, do you think they were maybe expecting a guest speaker? FYI –The grey stone is Aberdeen granite (half of the city is built with it) while the pink stone will be Peterhead granite (from 30 miles north).

As I've said before - if it weren't for the neighbours..... There's a few more photos to come from me over the next few weeks. But don't let that stop anyone else from posting.

The attached photo shows immediately to the right of the panoramic one from earlier. Seen once more from the Torry Battery this is the mouth of the River Dee, the southern of the two rivers that most of Aberdeen sits between. The northern one is the River Don. The really great thing about this point is that you can sit here and watch dolphins. There are a number of sea birds as well for the ornitholigists amongst us, including lots of various ducks e.g. eider, tufted, mergansers - lots of gulls e.g. herring, black backed - a smattering of coastal birds e.g. dunlins, as well as cormorants, guillemots etc. Not many puffins here, but you do get them further south where there are more cliff faces. The dolphins roam up and down the coast, so they’re not always there – about a 40/60 success rate. Often you’ll just see fins, but occasionally they’ll all be feeding at the mouth of the river, or if you’re really lucky they’ll be playing. And as an added bonus, my younger daughter loves watching the boats coming in and out.

Numf, this is absolutely breathtaking!!!
I still have two places I've lived in that I have to show... Both in France... But I'll wait a bit to see if other people post pictures of their places.

Either that or we'll have to change the name of this thread to "Pictures of Scotland!"

Well, we could always do a Scottish thread, complete with bagpipes, shortbread, kilts and haggis

Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.
