WOW!
Yesterday evening was the end of day 7, 1 full week of low carbs! This morning I weighed 190!
Pounds lost in 1 week: 9
And I'm feeling great, so I'm gonna stay on this another week for sure.
Maybe the difference this time is that I've made sure to eat a salad just about every day to keep from meat overdose. And those SUBWAY wraps sure make getting through the weekends easier....
Hello, 180s! I'm coming to visit; haven't seen you for a while...

Lash must be down to 180 by now!! Atkins is supposed to be very effective for weight loss, maybe not something you'd stay on forever. I never tried it - just prefer the vegan food anyways.

Not quite. But, after stalling out for a few days there, I finally DID enter the 180s and am thrilled!! Today's weight: 188. Pounds lost: 11 I suppose the slowdown of weight-loss was enevitable. I'll try to stay excited about it and not let myself get discouraged. Fortunately, I seem to be still enjoying the diet itself. All those salads and cheese... Yum! I'm getting pretty close to my goal range of 175-179, a range I think I can maintain fairly easily.

I've been getting lots of exercise over the last week but have somehow managed to GAIN five pounds! All's I gotta say is -- those five pounds better be pure muscle... (which I doubt, unless the muscle all manifested at my waistline )...

For those of you who work out regularly, what is your work-out? What do you really like and what do you really hate?
My schedule is a 6 day workout. Sundays and Wednesdays are chest, back, triceps and biceps. Mondays and Thursdays are legs (quads, hamstrings, calfs) and shoulders. Tuesdays and Fridays are abs and cardio. I also do cardio after my workout on Sundays. The only thing I hate with a passion is lunges.

I've changed my work out quite a bit in the last few weeks. As Pov can attest, I'm a pretty big guy, I played hockey for years, worked construction and am currently a bouncer at a bar. However, where I once was slim in the stomach and musculur up top, my long years of drinking and having a girlfriend (it's easy to slip when you're not single) have left me not quite feeling up to par. So recently, I've began a routine where I do fifty push-ups, a strict ten to fifteen minute run (treadmill when cold, outside when warm), and then some sets of strait-bar curls or military press after. And then three days a week, I've been going roller-blading after my run! It's good so far, I feel slim up top, and just need to keep working hard around the waste. I'm still solid around the arms and shoulders, and my chest is where I'd like it. So, I'm getting there . Hard for me to measure in pounds though, because I have a lot of muscle mass up top, and I'm naturally a big guy!

I just had Taco Bell for lunch!!! Surely those flour tortillas were baked in some divine kitchen!
It was delicious! I'm NOT sorry! Nyahahaha!
Carbs!! Orgasmic carbs, flooding my body, filling my belly, expanding my fat cells, giving me a head rush!!!
I DON'T apologize!!! I'd do it again in a second!!!! I've been so good, I've earned a treat today!
*still reeling from flour tortilla-induced head rush*
Heaven!!! I am in Heaven on Earth!

Hi! I haven't been at the computer much, lately!
This past week, and the week before were not great dieting/working-out weeks for me. I had a terrible cold, which did make for eating less, but no exercise. Once I recovered from that, I let the lazy food choices in... chicken wings (while the others had pizza) one night and then I was really busy at work, so I rewarded myself with a fattening meal a couple times. The point is, I haven't been trying very hard to be someone who's *trying* to lose weight and tone up. Last Thursday, I did an HOUR on the elliptical trainer. I was only going to do a half hour while I watched Ellen, but I wanted to see the whole show, so I stayed on. That felt good. Then I did free weights for my arms. I still feel that. We had burgers last night, so I gotta burn that off!
At least I'm more dedicated to rebounding from "bad" days than I used to be. I'll get back in that gym! I'll re-dedicate to "clean" foods! I'm not giving in. I am definitely smaller than I was in January, just not where I want to be yet.
Good job to the rest of you who are trying! It's great to come here to see how everyone's doing!

Cute Shirt Alert!!
Despite my shameless carb-laden indulgence at Taco Bell earlier today, I have tried on a cute shirt I wasn't able to get away with wearing before the diet, and now I *can* get away with wearing it--!!
A nice step in the right direction!!

Nice ! You can never have enough fun like that! At work on Friday night, the girl that I thought was the cutest in the entire bar talked to me for at least an hour, and then made sure to tell me that the guy she was with WASN'T her boyfriend. She said she'd be in next week again! This whole girlfriend thing is the only thinking stopping me from getting her number...

I've been very good this week, eating really light and I've been to the gym everyday except yesterday, when I was on an all day field trip with the first graders. THAT'S a workout! Today, I did a quick warm-up on the elliptical and then did free weights on my arms. It's beautiful and sunny here, so I took my dog for a walk and it was a PAIN! He sniffs and sniffs EVERYTHING, so I have to constantly yank on his leash. At least I have one of those body harness things for him instead of gagging him around the throat. The problem is, I want to walk at a good pace, for cardio effect. I guess I'll have to do that without ol Henry.

And as of now, I'm no longer depressed about my weight!
Just a few more to go to hit that coveted 170s range...!

I've been hit on more times in the last two weeks than in the previous three months combined!
Plus, I ran and rollerbladed three days a week for the last two weeks, and have been working out too! I'm feeling good again, myself!

I'm ready to kick it up a notch. After a couple months now, of regular cardio excercises, stretching and mild weight training, I need to do something more intensive to really make a change in my body. I'm going to start more emphasis on free weights.

I've been avoiding posting here... A) Because I'm more than a little embarrassed at my "start" weight, and B) I'm afraid of jinxing myself... I will say I've lost around 15 lb.s in a little under 2 months, mainly from watching how much I snack or eat at mealtime, and walking for 30-40 minutes almost every day, with moderate weight training with free weights and on the Total Gym (think Chuck Norris infomercial ). We'll see if it keeps up... or if I have indeed jinxed myself.
