Lou Costello reportedly travelled through my hometown in 1931, when he was still an unknown comic and before he teamed up with Bud Abbott. But Costello is not known for this brief stopover.
No to Earhart and Carson, as well.

No to Dillinger.
I've been to Eisenhower's hometown, Abilene, KS, but, so far as I know, he was never in my hometown. No to him, as well.

Harry Truman lived in Independence, MO, which is part of the metro area of where I live now. But he had no known association with the place of my birth.
And Wyatt Earp is most closely associated with Tombstone, AZ, a long way from my hometown.

Chuck Berry was born in St. Louis, MO, which is closer than some of the other choices, but still not home.

We have a winner!
Jesse James was shot to death by his own henchman, Robert Ford, on April 3, 1882, in St. Joseph, MO. Somewhat later, yours truly would be born in the same town.
Take it away, Quis!

But then you probably figured that out by the strike throughs. And I did use He Who Wander's list when I saw that the correct answer to my question was in his list.

good guesses but no, those were the degrees i ended up with.
I didn't take any architecture classes until my sophomore year, and didn't declare a major in art until maybe my senior year. i had been taking art classes all along and was like ... hmm a few more classes and i get another ba!
but the major i was planning on pursuing (as a freshman) indirectly led me to architecture.
